Today, without two effective wingers (Enzo is a central midfielder and Robert’s is ineffective) we needed the centre of our midfield to be spot on. They weren’t and unusually were having poor games. Functioning wingers are essential to our style of play so fingers crossed Mundle is fit to start the final.

However, to a man this team did not stop and did not give up. The crowd today, barring 10 mins after they scored were immense and I’ve never witnessed an atmosphere like that at the SOL for years.

Dan Ballard, what a boy!

Let’s go and get the job finished at Wembley. Absolutely love this group of lads they deserve to get promoted as their achievement, for their ages, is phenomenal. What a night. Brilliant !!!!!

Best atmosphere i've ever been in. From before the game to walking back to the bus after. Even after we conceded and it looked like they were favourites to win it was loud.
Apart from the usual negative bell end sat behind me, every person was singing, shouting and giving their all for the team.

Unbelievable tonight the fans, the players all connected

Just got home! Wow. We’ve just witnessed one of the greatest EFL moments of all time. My voice is gone. My back is killing. I can’t ****ing believe it.

Also what an atmosphere all game. The noise was amazing.

**** me lads we really did it!
I love this club

A lot to say about the performance, but I’ll let the dust settle for a day or so. Ultimately, matches aren’t remembered for how they played out, or who played well and what style a team used, history will remember the result and the moment that got that result.

Tonight Dan Ballard give us the greatest moment at the Stadium of Light, so far. A fitting player to get it too because these two games he has just about single hand idly got us to a final. That’s a moment that will go down in history.

No matter what you think of performances, one thing that I’ll argue anyone is that this team doesn’t give up, it just hasn’t all season.

And finally to the fans. We stuck with the lads as hard as it was at times. We never let frustration show. We roared them on at every moment. The belief was still there as that corner was won and that moment wasn’t just 121 minutes of pain, that was a good decade worth of pain in the making.

The job isn’t done yet, we have an amazing opportunity to change our clubs future for the better and for the long term. We’re going to do it lads, I believe these lads will do it. Haway haway haway.

Well, I was sat in the Oasis bar in Portugal watching this one. A couple of Mackem families and a Coventry table.

long story short, Coventry tried to to get neutral turning up pissed on his side and started giving it the big un, “you must hate this, big lad” type ****e. You need to calm down.

just wait son it aint over yet, you’re a bit cocky.

anyway, step up Big dan Ballard and my reaction was akin to Gordon Armstrong v chelsea with extras. I went absolutely mental. Full on room clearance.

I had been sat with a canny Scottish couple willing us on, lovely people

and he ****s off in about two seconds.

the next hour of the evening goes to Karaoke and of course the first song is wise men say.

I’ve never sang so many random tunes afterwards at full pelt
