Depends what money we have to spend, but it's a risk for both teams....if the lad turns out to be a lemon (let's face it 50:50 chance given our history) then there could be no resale value and they've lost out on 250k, twt as the kids say

 

The kid is only 20. Pay the extra 250 now, rather than giving away loads more if he ends up being good and signing elsewhere for a couple of mill

 

I'm pretty sure the club didn't ask for the clause and have negotiated within budget and whats possible. There's always a chance he doesn't cut it and we've minimised the upfront loss, but if he does we get a good player for however many seasons and a decent chunk of money at the end of it regardless of the clause.

Think he’s doing a lot better at left back now.

 

Yeah, absolute baller he is. Would make sense to keep him here if we are planning on splashing the cash a bit and making a play off push. Reckon he’d get well into double figures in a decent side that actually creates chances instead of killing himself off running around chasing lost causes and challenging 7’ centre halves for headers all game long. Don’t need to pay big wages for a donkey if we’re keeping the manager in.

 

Best of an average bunch. He’s alright and chipped in with odd goal but if he was re-loaned and brought in as our main striker, it’ll be another season of struggle.

 

Probably because he isn't a striker I suspect.

 

Technically he’s not a winger either but that’s where we mostly played him.

It should have been a relatively quiet one but if we decided to let Alzate, Puerta and Pedro go - then we’ve added 3 more necessary signings.

We could save money and keep Simons and or Mehlem if any buy clauses in the loans aren’t activated.

Otherwise I’d say we need LB, RB, LM/RM, 2 strikers and whatever else we sell.

Pedro has an option, but I expect if we were triggering it we’d have heard about it by now. If we are actually going to have a play off target next season we should definitely keep him. If not and we’re just going to have a season of consolidation then he might as well go.
