The UN has called for urgent international action to get aid into Gaza, amid fresh warnings that nearly half a million people there - one in five of the population - now face catastrophic hunger.

Parents are fearful about finding food and medication for their children as the Israeli aid blockade enters its third month. The BBC's special correspondent Fergal Keane reports.

If I was that desperate for me and the kids, if it was life and death. I’d be pulling the bodies out of the rubble and cooking them up.

There’s still plenty of food to keep people alive.

 

Bit grim, but I'd probably find a way too, fishing, eating dogs, cats, birds etc.

Bigger picture is that Israeli govt are sick ****s for deliberately starving children though.

 

Are the Israeli government really starving them or are the parents too lazy to cook a meal with what they’ve got?

 

Hamas still looking well fed, release the hostages etc. Can’t really be bothered to argue about it now but maybe later. They knew what they were getting themselves in for including the supposed civilians who joined in.

It's ****ing sick in my book. There is tons of aid sitting across the border that could feed those kids. But Israel are trying to force Hamas' hand by starving babies and children instead.

It's ****ed up big time.

 

They did have a plan to distribute aid rejected by the aid agencies by the way.

There are rumours that Shas and UTJ (18 seats combined) are poised to bring the government down and force an election.

Fingers crossed this happens. Netanyahu wouldn't survive it.
