It's amazing how many people swallow the nonsense they are fed on social media without even bothering to do a basic check. People just either cba to dig a bit deeper into a story or like Welshie says, they are just stupid and will accept stuff at face value. Also as he mentioned, some people are so entrenched in their thinking that it backs up their belief system and thus it feeds into itself in an never ending confirmation bias loop, even if it is completely made up. This is what happens when you replace actual trusted news sources with internet nobodies, and you replace scientists with instagram influencers.
