What a shameful, disgraceful season this has become.
An uncoached, clueless, inept mess from start to finish.
The club should refund every ticket for the last six months. Pathetic.

It’s amazing to still see many of our fans (particularly on social media) suggesting that Ange needs more time, especially if we win the Europa.
We’re getting battered by PL opposition every week because when playing decent opposition (which nearly every PL team is) the system and “coaching” isn’t effective.
We’re only in with a chance of winning the Europa because the drop in quality from the PL is so vast, and that the CL dropouts haven’t entered the latter stages this season. If they had have done, both us and united wouldn’t be near the final.
It’s actually hilarious that one of us will be in the CL next season, despite there being other PL sides who will finish mid table and are miles better than both teams, but won’t be involved.
We have to get rid of him, as there’s no way we can have another season of losing as many games, and a very challenging CL campaign (should we qualify, that is). Next season could somehow be even worse than this one!!

    I don't think anyone was.

What we were looking for, which has been missing almost all season, was a performance that showed effort and pride. That's all.

I've said all season, if the team loses but gave their all over 90mins, I'll applaud them off the pitch.

There were 7 outfield players who you'd think would be moving heaven and earth to catch the eye, with a potentially once in a career match coming up in two weeks. Aside from Tel, who isn't even a Spurs player, they were shocking.

I said it last season before the City defeat and got pilloried for saying it, so I will revel in a 'told you so' message to this entire forum:

Once you open the door to an excuse that will justify a defeat, it doesn't really matter what that excuse is, more will follow it through the door.

A winning mentality means a team that simple hates losing. There are no mitigations, no excuses, no ifs and buts...every single game is war. This to me is what defines the elite coaches too. They hate losing (and are often really graceless losers).

So yeah, jump up and down cheering City to stop Arsenal winning the league. But don't be surprised later down the line when that excuse is followed by more excuses.

Injuries...fixture congestion...VAR decisions...lack of crowd support...we've now heard it all, over and over again. And as if to prove my point, Ange sits down in front of the media today and states with absolute certainty that we'd be higher in the table had it not been for all our injuries. Based on what evidence? Our best players have been back for months, yet we've only beaten Southampton in that time.

    Excuses, excuses.

It pisses me off and I'm only ranting now because half the board piled in on me when I made this point exactly a year ago before the City game.

    We reap what we sow.

And if you water crops with the piss of a poor mentality that is fine making all manner of excuses for defeats, you will reap a blighted harvest.

    Message to the Our Players

"We are in the 2025 Europa Cup Final — and for many of you, this might be your only chance to play in a European final. I only played in one myself, and not long after, English clubs were banned from Europe for five years. So trust me when I say: don’t take this moment for granted.
To the younger lads especially — every game from now on is your chance to earn a place in that final. Be the best player on the pitch, make it impossible for the manager to leave you out. In 1984, five of our regulars — Hoddle, Ardiles, Perryman, Clemence, and Crooks — missed the final. The manager was left with no option but to pick the players who were in form, make sure that it is you in the best form.
Today’s performance wasn’t good enough given what’s at stake. You’ve got a few games left — give it everything, Score goals, fight for every ball, and show you deserve to be there in the final. You’ll never regret it if you are. It will be one of the greatest days of your footballing life.
Best of luck — may the best players and hardest workers win the battle for places. Don’t let this chance pass you by, it might only happen once. COYS!"

Over the days before the final, maybe get some of our heroes in to try and instill some of this into 'em. **** knows, the majority of them need it and it couldn't hurt to see what it means to win something like this...and what a real Tottenham Hotspur footballer looks and sounds like.

Even if he wins Europa, he won’t be leaving a legend.

He will be remembered much like Ramos and George Graham

Probably a bit higher than Bloke in a Coat

Main thing he's remembered for is benching David Ginola for not tracking back

Bloke in a coat didn’t lose 20+ league games in 1 season and would have had a decent defence with Romero and Van De Ven

Graham being ex gooner meant he was always doomed at Spurs. Silly appointment but probably still made more sense than Ange

    Don't do it.

I could imagine Robbo scything thru the legs of the
entire squad with one tackle, stopping at Romero,
smashing his own front teeth out and then saying :

this is what a REAL Spurs player is.

What are legends made of in the game of football?

Our first European trophy in 40 plus years

its a good debate for us to have no doubt

Winning Europa would be nice but for me the league form has tainted this season massively.

17th in the league and over 20 defeats just isn’t acceptable. Plus Europa quality under the new format makes it easier to win than the league cup.

yet we aren’t capable of winning the league cup

I will get the same feeling by finishing 17th as i do when we scrape 5th

To win a major European Trophy is paramount for our club and he will have taken us there…Poch and all the rest couldn’t manage that

I understand that to finish 5th means we would have had a few more enjoyable weekends of picking up 3 points but If we land the UEFA cup…Ange did that for us…like Burkinshaw did…a club legend.

Don’t get me wrong, a trophy to end the drought would be nice. Just to no longer hear about how long it’s been etc.

Europa League was the easiest competition to win this season and Ange had prioritised that which is fine but the league campaign means he will never be a legend.

If he loses the game then he’s probably the worst ever Spurs manager in the clubs history.

If he wins then he’s just Ramos and Graham.

We don't know because we've never been in this absurd situation before.

The closest example is the 90/91 season when Venables sacked off the league - winning just twice in the second half of the season - in order to win the FA Cup.

The cup win gave everyone something to cheer, but masked the fact that we were in terminal decline and wouldn't really show any sign of recovery until BMJ became manager and broke into the top 6.

Ultimately a team's league record is the truest and most accurate measure of where they're really 'at'.

Most of our EL opponents this season would be relegated if they entered the PL, that's how poor the tournament is now that CL teams don't drop into it.

Maybe if Poch had similarly sacked off the league in 18/19 we would've won the CL?

    We'll never know.
