I hope so also SFTW, but I’m not overly confident. Really tough games this season (particularly the ones on the road), and our Chiefs destroying D-Line has been pretty much dismantled. Think it will be a year to build towards a successful following year, with good picks setup already for the draft. Hey, if we go deep in the playoffs I’ll be delighted, but not going to be upset if we don’t. The SB win will keep me happy for a few years now.
I personally think we are in a better position than we were after our last Super Bowl triumph. The team is young, we have lost some key players but I feel the spine is still there. We do have a difficult schedule though, so we’ll see how it pans out
Rumours are it's Vikings @ Lions in the opening round of fixtures. Nice to get that game out of the way early I suppose.
Hopefully 0:1 for the start of the season I think we may struggle against the Cowboys. They’re gonna be fully up for it
Vikings are an unknown quantity at the moment. Until McCarthy plays a competitive NFL game we don't know what we've got at QB. Having said that he has got as good an environment as any rookie QB could have. We've properly strengthened our O Line in FA and draft picks and of course he's got Justin Jefferson to throw the ball to. I'm reasonably optimistic but the NFC North is a brutal division and the Bears will be a lot better going forwards as well.
Yeah it all hinges on McCarthy really. The rest of the team on paper is good enough to compete, if they stay healthy. Not good enough to win a Super Bowl with the secondary as it is but if McCarthy is a top half QB then they should be competitive in the playoffs.
Agree with both statements above. It’s an exciting season ahead. A lot of teams will be vying for the play offs
Confirmed that the Vikings have back to back international games in 2025 - Steelers in Dublin on 28th September then Browns in London on 5th October. Both are road games as well for the Vikings so don't lose any home field advantage.
Dublin flights booked. Now just need to buy a ticket to the game. And even if I don't for any reason get a ticket I can still have a good weekend in Dublin.
Is the game at the Aviva? I stayed at a hotel in Lansdowne Road once, about 100 yards from the stadium. And there’s a railway station right next to the stadium which takes you into the city centre.
Croke Park. I'm staying at a B&B in Drogheda, half an hour away on the train. Hotel prices in Dublin are ridiculous for that weekend.
So Vikings play the Lions on Christmas Day and then finish the regular season against the Packers. Bit annoyed that we kick off the season with 2 prime time games.
That's quite positive for you! It will be interesting how Flores deals with elite QB's such as Burrow (top 3 QB in the NFL IMO) and Hurts.I think 10 or 11 wins is very achievable. There's going to be some cracking games.
Damn it, week 3 until we can see the Vikings at a sensible time. Though I'll probably be unemployed by then so I guess I could stay up.
I thought I was being quite negative with it. Lose to the bears Beat Falcons Beat Bengals Beat Steelers Beat Browns Lose Eagles Lose chargers Lose lions Lose Ravens Beat bears Lose Packers Lose Seahawks Beat commanders Beat cowboys Beat giants Lose lions Beat Packers Is my prediction, 9-8 finish probably means no playoffs and picking about 16th
