GK....Not going to play in the final Defenders... Not going to play in the final Midfielders...Not going to play in the final Strikers...Not going to play in the final Subs ... Not going to play in the final No more injuries ... pretty please
Both sides are going to wrap the team in cotton wool , let's flip a coin and go to the pub .......but if that idiot with the drum turns up push him down the steps from the top of the north stand
Assuming there is on paper a strongest EL starting XI, are the next 2 games the opportunity for some players to make their case for being on the bench ??
It’s a tricky one for the next two matches. We obviously can’t afford any more injuries but we don’t want the players going in undercooked. There’s two camps of players, really. Some need to be wrapped in cotton wool, some need minutes. If we assume the starting XI for the final will be: Vicario Porro Romero VdV Udogie Kulu Bissouma Bentancur Johnson Solanke Richy Some players in there, like Kulu, would actually benefit from more minutes so he can get sharper. I suspect he’ll come off the bench against Palace and maybe play the first 45 against Villa, though they’re a pretty robust team and we’ll want to be considerate of that. Does anyone know if Ash Phillips can play any minutes now his season is done with Stoke? The reason being that we’re kind of short between CB, fullback, and midfield, if we want to rest a lot of players. If we can register Phillips, who is only 19, then we could do something like: Kinsky Spence Phillips Danso Davies Sarr Gray Olusesi Odobert Tel Son/Moore Anyone know if Alfie Devine is finished on loan and could get minutes too? Edit: Obviously none of the returning loanees are eligible as technically they’re on loan until the end of June
After the Lord Mayors Show .... No-one cares, not us, not Palace and there's nothing to gain by risking anything. The only non-reserve player I'd like to see plays would be Kulusevski who although improved last night, still looks well short of minutes.
Devine is literally playing for Westerlo right now In terms of loanees playing, in the past it was possible for players to finish their loan and come back to play for us, as both Jake Livermore and Alex Pritchard managed that - but mentioning their names underlines that was 10-15 years ago
Yeah I wrote that one too quickly haha. Forgot the Belgian league do those playoffs, thought the season had wrapped up.
Curious to see how Ange deals with the number 10 issue Kulu has been poor for whatever reason but he hasn’t been good enough and we need a solid performance in the final from that position I think United’s strength is their midfield so we will have to win that battle
Good to see Son back in the squad, hopefully he gets a solid amount of minutes today and then completes the 90 v Villa. I'd imagine we'll see Porro and Bentancur rested for that game. Crucial Kulusevski continues to get minutes in his legs. There were glimpses against Brodo they/them Glimt, but he's still miles off what he's capable of.
I can understand the XI picked, but see no reason for having most of the rested players on the bench. A couple more youngsters for Van Der Ven and Solanke would have made sense to me. Can only see a Palace win, but who knows. On another note would be nice for the spammers to do us a favour and kick a few up in the air at Old Trafford
