Thanks for putting this on my radar mate, it'll be a cracking game. I've quoted your post from the match thread and put it in here so it can be discussed more when the match is on. I've just been looking and unless you have other methods of watching games, your official way is through "Triller TV", They are a streaming service who offer a free 7 day trial so you could join, watch the game and cancel. They also have Eredivisie games and the Greek playoffs this weekend if you're after more random European football. https://www.trillertv.com/live/foot...UmnyLI6N5oFFhZolm29JVe7jYFGgrN6mh82cn0tAa6T5v I dip in and out of European football, but I had no idea Sporting were doing so well. I remember they sacked Amorim's replacement after just 8 games, but it seems that the replacement has been excellent. A lot of that is to do with the form of the former Coventry man Gyokeres though. He has a remarkable record this year. After 32 games, there are 4 players in the league who have scored more than 10 goals. 1 lad has scored 14, the Benfica and Porto top scorers have 18 each... Gyokeres has scored 38 goals in 32 games! If anyone wants to read a bit more, there's a BBC article on today's game. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce398vldgq8o
Only caught the end of the Notts County/Wimbledon game but it was a very entertaining finish. Pundits and co-commentator didn't think it was a red but he's gone in two footed in retaliation, not sure it matters how much contact there was if any.
It was a cracking game all the way through. In slow motion it’s not a red but the ref doesn’t have that.
Both keepers pulled off a few blinding saves. I didn't comment in her because I thought no one was watching it. Alex Bass was in goal and pulled off a cracking save low down.
I'm not great at knowing the nuances of the rules and I'm happy to be corrected, but isn't it a straight red if you try and cripple someone out of frustration even if you narrowly miss them? Definitely going to watch as much of the second leg as I can, seems like it'll be a cracker.
I’m the same, I don’t know. I just think he went in with the right leg, the left followed with momentum, to me it wasn’t a scissor tackle but that’s with the replay. He didn’t catch him but can definitely see why the ref gave it. I played Sunday mornings in the 80s and 90s so think it was **** all.
I think because he's done it out of retaliation it's made the punishment more severe, refs don't like that. Not the worst tackle as you say but it was pretty wild and would have ended badly if he'd caught him on the ankle.
Imagine how ****E the game will be in 10 years time when you’re not allowed to slide whatsoever, can’t head the ball, goalkeeper can’t kick the ball beyond his own box and you have to play 5 yard passes at a maximum otherwise the other team get a free kick.
