Nice to see a mixed card at Haydock on Swinton Hurdle day. The feature race is, as usual, a devlishly tricky affair with the changing of the seasons (even at Haydock!!) meaning winter form is less relevant but the summer horses maybe needing the run. Good job there are only 17 runners to sift through and my pin has landed on Lieutenant Henderson's progrerssive gelding Goblet of Fire. Good luck everyone <cheers>

I’m going to go for the outsider in a small field, Prince of the Seas 8-1 in the Lingfield Derby Trial.

The first at Ascot looks interesting, the unraced Celestial King (cost 1.75 million guineas) debuts and goes up against Appleby’s Military Code, winner of its last and only race so far.

Yes and that was at last month's breeze ups, so purchased on movement, not just looks and pedigree. Evs fav at present but at Ascot I think I would prefer Military Code who saw it out well at Newmarket on debut

Puppet Master's 4th behind Delacroix and Lambourne was made to look exceptional form recently but, in that race, he was 1¼l behind Tiberius Thunder who was subsequently a well beaten (3¾l) 4th to 40/1 outsider Sea Scout. So unless Sea Scout is a bit special Puppet Master's Group form could well be flatterring. I certainly wouldn't be taking odds on about him. I think I would be more interested in 16/1 shot Rogue Impact ew

    16:30 Haydock - Is I Right

Class-5 Handicap over an extended 1m3f on good-to-firm ground, for 3YO's only.

Waldgeist colt has stamina in his pedigree, so will see out this trip. Wears usual headgear. A. J. Farragher rides for the James Horton yard.

9/2 best price in nearly all places on the ATR site, at time of writing.

How on earth has Cameletta Vega gone off at odds of 3/1 there? OK she hasn't set the world alight in bumpers but she was always going to be better jumping a hurdle. Stunning price and she did it really nicely.

Very impressed by Stay True in defeat there - has a much higher knee action than Puppet Master and you'd expect him to reverse form on less firm going and maybe a more galloping track. He's lost nothing in defeat there.

The power of Aiden O'Brien - so far 9 runners at Lingfield / Naas today and 5 of them won. The ones that didn't win were in races won by other Ballydoyle runners. The placings of the 9 runners reads: 131121431.

Thank you all, guys, for your very generous and kind comments, but I have had my bad runs too! The colt did run a super race for trainer, James Horton, and was very well-ridden by young jockey, A.J. Farragher. Thanks again, lads. :emoticon-0142-happy
