That's how stats can show you one thing but the eye test is the other. I can not believe that 65% and 37% is seen as good. Looked **** and we lost the ball many times Stats man. Can make them look to be whatever your selling. 100% save percentage
I thought he saved the header than was going wide and the one straight at him in the second half. Don't recall anything else.
Patterson numbers are skewed this week because he made a couple of saves that were gilt edged chances. Neither were “good” saves, both poor misses, but the data still shows him saving a high xG chance
Yep. Goalkeeper data is fundamentally flawed so I can definitely see why a data based team of the week has him in the team.
So which GK was better than him in week 1? Unless someone has watched every match they have no idea who is the best so it might have been he was the best Made no errors n kept a clean sheet - yes didnt have loads to do but also wasnt bad Stats will always just be a guide, thry only tell a fraction of a story
That's what I am saying. Given what I watched I am surprised that no other keeper had more to do / had a better game. When watching I thought his distribution was really poor and had nowt to do, hence why I was surprised to see him in TOTW
I actually found a lot of GKs distribution was really poor this week, patterson included Didnt watch all the games so i cant comments on who i thought was the best Those team of the week things are always flawed Not saying he wasnt the best either tho
Not always at all, far too easily skewed by agenda and bias. It's why we still had SAFC fans saying that Bellingham had a poor game on Saturday. Mix of stats and eye test is 'the one', each confirming the other.
That can’t be the case, surely not? I’m far from Jobe’s biggest fan but it’s clear as day he had a really good game on Saturday.
"F*ck off Stalin, ya bellend, and get yer tache trimmed ffs." (Yalta - Feb 4th 1945.) That's one of his lesser known comebacks.
True I thought Jobe is lucky to be starting as many games as he has done but if he performs like he did on Saturday then happy days - he was quality.
Turned to my son at the game and said he was the only player I was disappointed on purely because of his distribution. It was slow and wayward most of the time, either putting players under pressure or going straight into touch.
You're not on yer own mate, writing off players and managers quickly is embedded in the club for some reason ... ... despite people being proved wrong time after time. It's quite recently Hume was declared shyte, Patterson a fatty and RLB inept to play Enzo anywhere but centrally. Ballard was 'positionally clueless', Jobe exhausted and O'Nien unfit for purpose
