Disappointed they didn’t give the Germans clues as to where they had bombed so they could be more accurate next time? It was referred to as a North Eastern coastal town to confuse the Germans as, contrary to what some believe, Hull is not a coastal town or city.

I'm honestly impressed that the Daily Express is still a thing. Well done them.

Bunch of reactionary ****s, but well done them nevertheless.

JCC had it right, with a bit of the old poeting:

You Never See a Nipple in the Daily Express

I've seen the poison letters of the horrible hacks
About the yellow peril and the reds and the blacks
And the TUC and its treacherous acts
Kremlin money - All right Jack
I've seen how democracy is under duress
But I've never seen a nipple in the Daily Express

I've seen the suede jack boot the verbal cosh
    Whitehouse Whitelaw whitewash
Blood uptown where the vandals rule
    Classroom mafia scandal school
    They accuse - I confess
I've never seen a nipple in the Daily Express

    Angry columns scream in pain
    Love in vain domestic strain
    Divorce disease it eats away
The family structure day by day
In the grim pursuit of happiness
I've never seen a nipple in the Daily Express

    This paper's boring mindless mean
Full of pornography the kind that's clean
Where William Hickey meets Michael Caine
Again and again and again and again
I've seen millionaires on the DHSS
But I've never seen a nipple in the Daily Express

I mean, it's all a bit 1970s but still relevant today, despite that.

    Anyone remember William Hickey?

The Daily Express is now part of the Reach Group and now more wet than reactionary. Reading the comments section the number of replies not printed or deleted for ridiculous reasons, like saying a viewpoint is silly, how awful, is a big thing. Used to be a decent paper decades ago now it is like a comic.

William Hickey was number of people. They took the name from an 18th century diarist. The first one was Tom Driberg He was strongly suspected of being a traitor feeding info to the USSR. , a member of the communist party and later a Labour MP.
See the reactionary Express was a bit more liberal about employing people with differing opinions than the Grauniad.

    Welcome to the modern world….

Porn = loneliness sold as sex
Alcohol = escape sold as fun
Fast food = poison sold as food
Luxuries = emptiness sold as joy
Video games = isolation sold as play
Celebrities = ads sold as role models
Drugs = numbness sold as happiness
Social media = likes sold as friendship
Smoking = addiction sold as relaxation
Scrolling = distraction sold as downtime
Cheap dopamine is the Trojan horse of modern misery.

A bit different this, anyone have any experience with extended depth of field (EDOF) replacement lenses?

I've a cataract that needs doing and I've been offered these as one of 3 options, the other 2 being monofocal or tri-focal. Seems to me like they might be a good compromise but I don't know anyone who has them.
