Good Morning. It's Friday 9th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road FA investigating Ampadu over parade chant Leeds skipper Ethan Ampadu is reportedly under investigation by the Football Association (FA) following an incident during the club's open-top bus parade through the city centre on Monday. The Welsh international was a central figure in the celebrations marking Leeds' promotion back to the Premier League. However, attention has now turned to a moment during the parade where Ampadu is alleged to have led fans in the infamous chant about teammate Wilfred Gnonto. The chant in question has been described as "crude" and has previously drawn significant criticism throughout the season. It gained notoriety and condemnation from anti-discriminatory groups, including 'Kick It Out', earlier in the campaign due to its nature. According to a report in 'The Telegraph', the governing body is aware of video footage circulating from the parade which captures the incident. The newspaper states that the FA will now look into the matter. While the specific grounds for the investigation have not been detailed, the FA's rules cover conduct that brings the game into disrepute. The controversy surrounding the chant earlier in the season suggests it could potentially fall under this category, especially given its public nature during a major club event. As captain, Ampadu holds a prominent position at the club and his conduct is subject to scrutiny. The FA's review of the footage will likely assess whether the player's actions breached any regulations. At this stage, the investigation is understood to be in its initial phases, with the FA reviewing the available evidence. It remains to be seen what, if any, action the governing body may decide to take following their inquiry into the matter. Leeds United have not yet publicly commented on the report. please log in to view this image Phillips loan move makes sense It wouldn't truly feel like a Leeds United summer transfer window without the familiar buzz of former players being linked with a return. It's a recurring theme that often gets fans talking, and this Summer is no different. As anticipated, Kalvin Phillips' name has already surfaced, but this particular rumour feels like it might just have more substance than usual. Speculation is mounting that the former England international could make a return to Elland Road, potentially on a loan deal. To be frank, bringing Kalvin Phillips back wouldn't necessarily be the worst move Leeds could make right now. While his career trajectory has stalled somewhat over the past two or three seasons, struggling for game time at Manchester City and during loan spells at West Ham and Ipswich, a return to his boyhood club and familiar surroundings at Elland Road could be the catalyst he needs to reignite his career. Crucially, multiple sources suggest that Phillips himself is keen on the idea and genuinely wants to come back. Following his return to Manchester City from relegated Ipswich, and with Rodri firmly established in Pep Guardiola's midfield, Phillips is widely expected to be surplus to requirements at the Etihad. This opens the door for a potential move. Transfer expert Graeme Bailey recently shared insights with LeedsUnited.News, reinforcing the growing belief that Phillips is eyeing a return to West Yorkshire on loan. The prospect of Phillips returning, even temporarily, offers clear benefits. Leeds would acquire a player with undeniable quality and a deep connection to the club and its fanbase, potentially boosting the midfield significantly. For Phillips, it's a chance to escape a frustrating period, gain vital minutes, and rediscover his best form in an environment where he is loved and understood. While not a done deal yet, the stars seem to be aligning for a potentially significant Elland Road comeback story. “Leeds are looking at the Phillips situation intently. He wants to come back. It won’t be a permanent deal, I think it’s the perfect opportunity for Leeds . Leeds should do everything they can to bring him back. “He could be extraordinarily good. He’s still a very good Premier League player. He’s made some wrong decisions, he should have gone to Newcastle but I’d be surprised if they decide not to bring Phillips back. “He is one of Leeds top targets this window, loan with an option. Leeds will have no issue matching what Ipswich are paying . My understanding is he wants to come back, Leeds want him. I think it gets done.” please log in to view this image Vardy twelve month deal? Leicester City icon Jamie Vardy is set to embark on a new chapter in his illustrious career. At 38 years old, the veteran striker has confirmed he will be leaving the King Power Stadium at the end of his contract this Summer, bringing an end to a remarkable 13-year spell with the Foxes. With his time at Leicester drawing to a close, Vardy's representatives are already actively working to secure his next destination. As is common practice when a high-profile player becomes available, agents reach out to potential suitors across the footballing landscape. One club reportedly contacted is Leeds United. Whilst his best days are behind him, his experience, positional play and eye for goal should not be ignored. He's netted eight goals and provided three assists during 2670 minutes of game time for a very poor Leicester City side this season. If Leeds are able to offload Patrick Bamford this Summer, than surely Vardy is a better option, especially as a freebee? please log in to view this image
Thanks for keeping up these posts Elland. Must feel relentless. I'm agnostic on Phillips. OK he was 100% Leeds and all that and was pivotal (DYSWIDT?) in Bielsaball, but he wanted out. We know he can perform in the PL but it just seems a backwards step. Ampadu's antic may get him a fine, but I doubt it'd go beyond that. It didn't generate one before though.
Morning all. Isn't it great to be back with these mouth watering transfers. Philips and Vardy, Europe here we come. Heidi better check her passport is up to date. If only we can get Milner as well
Morning all :eave Amps alone. Even Wokey me thinks that this is over blown. So he did the chant big ****ing woop. Was little Willy offended by it? Probably not. It's great to see the spirit of Mary Whitehouse is still alive. **** off with Phillips As for Vardy I'd take him for 12 month as a back up striker. You gotta remember that Teddy Sheringham was playing for a newly promoted West Ham at the age of 40.
Jamie needs some Dosh coming in .... apparently kalvin is virtually da house home and hosed milner is awaiting a Barca offer ...next up Mr Kent
Ampadu Just a lad enjoying himself. As on the chant if Willy dodn't like it he would of told plenty of people by now. I know I wouldn't be lol. As on Phillips and Vardy no,no,no,no,no and No thankyou.
Good afternoon Phillips a big no, however Vardy would get my vote, still has the instinct and an eye for a goal in the prem, and given good service will score more, guess he has just has another season or two in him because of age, but maybe that will be just what we need, for a bedding in period in the prem until we can replace with a younger version.
Greeting from Kefalonia island Greece. That is all i have to say really as i await paddy marathe spending all our budget.
So, most on here don’t think Bamford or Piroe will cut it in the premier league but could be decent “squad players” so how many back up strikers do we need. Personally I think Vardy will be off to the MLS or Saudi, he has a lot of his wife’s legal bills to cover It’s a no from me regarding Phillips, I just don’t get the returning player thing at all.
No way to Vardy, what a backwards step, we might as well keep Bamford. KP I get we could do worse than him on loan but he hasn’t impressed at Ipswich, fans no longer love him, without Bielsa and before Bielsa he was average, another huge no Afternoon all
Good point. So far not one person or journalist has gotten our transfer targets right until it is a completely done deal. The ownership keeps these things very tight, usually no leaks.
Never ever did I expect to say this and really mean it Come on Sunderland you can do it you know you can, please!
