Ok. Looking at that game on it's own merits, I wasn't impressed at all with Sheff Utd. Yes they have better players but I thought Bristol played the better football until the sending off and it cost them.
What the **** is happening here. Saying Sheff Utd should win the playoffs if they are at their best is NOT 'negative', it's just a fact. Nothing to do with Sunderland, we are at a ridiculous disadvantage because of the parachute payments (which shouldn't be a thing). Can we win the playoffs? Absolutely and if we play how we know we can we will cause any team issues, as we have shown against the parachute payment clubs this season.
Pointless commenting after our game tomorrow night. Am I allowed to say Sheaf and Wright are superb at this level?
Ive got nothing against people having a moan when we are ****, we all do it, what I can't get my head around is people who are negative about every result and everything about the club. In the 2 games we played sheff utd the agg, ended 2-2 very close games. They looked good tonight I'll not deny that however if we get to the final I think it will be very close and won by one goal. I'd actually fancy our chances more against them than I would Plymouth. I think their style allows us to play our game better.
I reckon if we win the semi vs Coventry then we’ll beat Sheff Utd in the final. I reckon they’ll bottle it as they’ll get billed favourites, especially now they’ve sewn up their semi auto presumably convincingly And I just think the underdog status suits us. We will be the young, plucky side up against the parachute payment team. The whole country will be behind us.

In all seriousness though, Sheff Utd should be getting promoted with the points total and money/squad available, they're in a better place to us atm. They finished 14 points ahead of us, although that flatters them imo as we downed tools in March, so should be favourites to win it. That doesn't make you negative, it's a fact based argument. However I believe you could make a good case for us being better/beating them, which i think we will if given the chance. I'm more worried about Cov tbh. Chill out man, not everything needs to be so tribal/definitive it's a message board for opinions.
Sheff United should go up for obvious reasons. Some will disagree but I genuinely believe if all play off teams played at their best in every game, we would go up, we just haven’t showed that level for a bit of time now. The uphill task we have (just imo) if we are not at our best then Coventry and sheff United will likely beat us, especially sheff United. I still 100% have belief we can get this promotion. I think we’re second or third favourites but the gaps are close between those three teams.
This thread is mad lol, how does conceding that another team are stronger than us stop them from being a fan? If we got drawn against Liverpool in a cup would folk demand everyone on here claim we have a much better team than the scousers?!
Last night was a typical championship game, not much between the teams until a defenders brain fart tipped the scales. Sheff utd were not impressive. They were functional and direct against 10 men. The worry I took from the game is that stylistically we are very similar to Bristol city and it was clear that for all the sideways passes in their half or nice football to reach the final third, they carried very little threat And it ultimately cost them.
