If someone had asked you to pick 3 English teams to reach European finals this season how many would you have got? Chelsea looked like a banker from the start, to be honest, but us and Utd? Nah.
If you asked me at the start of the season I’d have backed us as I often feel English sides will be amongst the favourites for Europa. If you asked me after a few months of watching Ange’s horror show of management, I’d have laughed in your face. I truly do believe in the squad though, it’s nowhere near as bad as it’s been made to look this season. We’ve got some really good players, even if there is less of a world class element these days.
Anyone reckon (or know if?) Spurs will be showing the game at the stadium like they done for the CL final? I’m probably gonna head back to London for it so hoping they will.
Well, thats a new experience watching Spurs a comfortable evening with very few dramas. Such a professional performance though against what turns out to be quite limited opposition. Great performances from Romero, Udogie and Bentancur and tidy from everyone else including the officials and Ange! I will worry about having to beat United for a 4th time this season another time, for now I have nice large glass of rum to toast Tottenham Hotspur Europa league finalists
Yes. Winning Europa ticks all boxes, finances of CL football and more importantly for (most) fans an actually trophy. 2008 feels like a lifetime ago.
The lads did what was needed. Quite a remarkable feat to reach the final given the awful season we’ve had. On to the final now. Much as we’re worried about Man Utd, no doubts they are worried about us too! I just hope the lads put in a good performance in the final and make everyone proud. COYS.
In my years of supporting spurs I remember: 1981...poor in League but won FA cup 1982 ... really good in all comps but lost league cup final but won fa cup 1984 ... good in league won unfair cup 1987 ... good in League lost cup final 1991 ...poor in League won FA Cup 1999... poor in League won league cup 2002...poor in League lost league cup final 2008...poor in League won league cup 2009 ... OK in League lost league cup final 2015...good in league lost league cup final 2019... good in League lost CL final 2021...OK in League lost league cup final That's 13 finals ... W 6 L7 4 of our wins were when we were poor in the league. 6 of our losses when we were either ok or good in the league. Ange knows his stuff ... **** in league and a trophy in his 2nd year
I can litterally guarantee Tottenham will lose in this final. It's a non lose situation for me and I keep changing my mind about who I want to see lose. Good luck guys.
Stick with it, we need everyone to write us off against the Red Devils! There will be a tsunami of s*** soon coming from the media about how poor and undeserving we are to be in the final. I love it..
I was due to be working in Manchester the week of the final , but it was cancelled on Wednesday, it would have been a fun finding a Spurs pub in the city centre, on second thoughts , not as hard as finding a non Man Utd pub in Surrey
Talksh*te main story this morning, should Tottenham have an open top bus parade , they just can't help themselves, Ange is so right about the media agenda against us
. '87 really hurt for some reason. We had been so good that year. But I can think of a couple of lads on here who might challenge those stats!!
The fact is winning a trophy isn't very easy, but yeah, the haters and the jealous will piss on your parade. I mean we had to beat Forest, Chelsea, Brentford, Arsenal twice, and Liverpool to win the league cup and many envious people belittled the achievement. Most fanbases would suck off a bloke for a trophy these days.
The amazing amount of mental gymnastics requiresd these days to ridicule fans celebrating winning a trophy is insane. It's a very small group of fanbases that have become so entitled they don't want to be seen caring about winning anything less than the PL or CL. The truth is they're crap fanbases. They're the cancer of football.
