I don’t think you can say that with any certainty. Much as I don’t think you can say he definitely is either. Not sure his recent comments have any impact on anything.
No, your right ... none of us know for certain. Call it a gut feeling, or just tempering my expectations and what will be will be
This. I get the feeling Danny is our 1st choice.but as usual we will miss out on our 1st choice and end up with a relative unknown. It's the sport Republic way
And he's second favourite by some margin. Rohl is still massive favourite at well under evens. Obviously that can still be taken with a pinch of salt.
Oh ****, Gary O'Neil is second favourite with most bookies. SR can **** right off if they appoint that skate ****er.
I know he’s a skate, but he would probably be a better option than some of the other names being touted.
Just based on his ability as a manager maybe, but it would alienate far too much of the fanbase for it to work. And for me, he's not a good enough manager to ignore his skate connections.
When is someone going to take a punt on Kjetil Knutsen. Always the bridesmaid with every single 'next manager odds' list ever.
And his recent successes are?? No thanks, hopefully SR are searching for real talent, difficult but necessary in our case.
Neither JWP or Ox played for Pompey though and Stokes only did after he left Saints and only for a season.
The more that i've read about Liam Manning the more I think he would be a good fit assuming he doesn't win the play-offs. He has more experience of being a head coach than Rohl and a much better career win % and has a reputation of developing young players (Declan Rice for one) which I think is mandatory for this crucial next appointment.
As Alfie House said, if Germany come calling he will probably go there if just for family reasons. I also don't think that will lend itself to any long term stability as if he is already homesick then it's doubtful he will have intentions of building a project in England. I will also be very very annoyed again with SR if it comes out in a few weeks that Rohl said No and theres talks about SR having to readjust their targets. They should have been sounding out a manager since January and if it gets to mid-may and their 'main target' leaves then it's rapid interviews with other targets, then it's just another disasterclass from SR. If Rohl decides to go to Germany then it's not like it will have come out of nowhere. They have essentially been given 6 months to get their **** in order for the summer.
