He'll have a choice of clubs tbh. I doubt he'd put any unnecessary pressure on himself by going to Newcastle in my opinion.
Need some advice lads. Usually if I make it up, it will always be a weekend game to give myself the time to do there and back in the day - it’s a good 4 hours each way when accounting for charging my far-from-ideal-for-long journeys electric car. I also always come up with my lad. He is just doing his GCSEs and has a Maths exam at 9am on Weds morning, so he unfortunately is out. Worth noting he doesn’t live with me full time, so I wouldn’t be leaving him at home if I was to come up. Do I do it? Going to be a 3am return home at the earliest, and a match day by myself. Is the jubilation of that drive home if we win worth the risk of torturous questioning of life decisions if we lose?
Just go for it mate. You may not be with a family member, but you will be with the Sunderland family. Whether it be pain or elation, we're all in it together, so you're not alone.
I thought about driving up but it's 4-5 hours each way and usually loads of speed cameras / 50 mph roadworks so I'm letting the train take the strain. Just booked my ticket today £99.
My lifetime motto has always been, 'It's always easier not to do something but don't let that stop you'. I've travelled for fifty years with a variety of great lads, sons and lifelong friends but am now living in Fife so travel 'alone'. Except there are always Sunderland supporters on the train, from Edinburgh to Newcastle, and plenty at Central Station. I sometimes get to Sunderland without any plans but always have a good crack with random people ... ... just do it mate, it could be a night you'll be posting about for years.
Good on you mate. I've just changed my train ticket so I'll be in town around 5pm instead of 7pm, I reckon it could be quite a night. We'll probably be in the Fire Station, Sheepfolds or the Museum so drop me a message if you fancy a pint. Where are you coming from btw.
Ah thanks mate - definitely will do! Really looking forward to it now! Im in Market Harborough, about 15 miles from Leicester
In football nothing is guaranteed mate. We are as likely to win by 3 or 4 as lose by 3 or 4 . Recent form would suggest the latter however it is obvious that our priority has not been on results, but more on shape and fitness. At the present time and especially for these games I think current form goes out the window and in truth think we have as good a chance as all the other teams in the play offs. Over 2 games we are as good as any team in the league and I include the top 2 teams in this. We fell a bit short at end of the season but we have the players and the talent to be promoted, that is evident from our finishing position. I just wish our fans believed it as this glass half empty crap really annoys me (not just you mate but our fans have been so negative lately it leaves me scratching my head at times) we as a fan base should be buzzing and filled with nervous energy instead of moping around like grumpy teenagers.
How does what work ? I’ve bought me ticket for Tuesday I’m away at work there’s a good few folk who would love to be at the game but for what ever reason don’t have the cash, I know a few people who have bought there season card seat and can’t make it through illness or holidays and are giving them to family members
I don't think you can forward these tickets that's what it stated when I bought mine on first day if release.
