French cinemas show French films so works there. I would say 50 per cent of American films are cliched and unoriginal these days.

I quite like foreign films although not the fan that i was in 2000s.

I do understand that but let's be honest here, without American films in our cinemas I would hazard a guess that the amount of people going to the cinema would drop by at least 70%. And that would be catastrophic.

I feel like the number of people visiting the cinema has dropped already. Is it me or does it feel like there are very few good films coming out of Hollywood lately?

Complete Unknown was excellent. So was The Bike Riders. Megalopolis was a bit of a mess, but a grandiose, epic mess. That’s the last three I’ve seen at the movies.

We go to the cinema every fortnight and th3 best 2 recent films were 'last breath' which was set in the world of the North Sea oil industry and The Accountant 2. Both were excellent and the latter was quite inventive. Still , Hollywood rarely thinks outside of the box like the Korean film 'Parasite.'

I didn’t find the story about Trump, it found me.
When you are a rapist, a sexual predator and an alleged *****phile these stories have a habit of finding their way into the public domain.
I hadn’t previously seen the allegation of Trump raping a 13 year old so I thought I would share it.
Your concern that I shared a story about a rapist, sexual predator and an alleged *****phile has been duly noted.

Yeah, all to do with the dominance of streaming services now.

One of the issues of this latest Trump idiocy is that the programmes we sell over to the States (the likes of Top Gear etc - yes, I know it's not going any longer, but that was the best example) help subsidise the license fee for the BBC.

I am peplexed by those Donald Trump stories. I can appreciate that accusing the President of the US would be very imtimidating but these accusations date from well before 2016 when he was a businessman who featured in a popular TV show.

I keep thinking how different this would be in the UK and how the Labour Deputy leader Tom Watson supported the contentions of 'victim' and ultimately found to be bundle of lies. I just feel that we are more thorough in dealing with these matters in the UK. It is difficult to envisage someone becoming PM with such allegations hanging around.

It is easy to be smug in these instances as someone a ridiculous as Trump would have been discounted as a credible politician before he was elected. I just feel that we are far too cynical to entertain a politician like Trump. In the recent past ,the system has quickly dispatched Boris a d Truss. I can see the same happening to Farage. A British Trump strikes me as being very unlikely. Had Trump acted like he has in his second term if ge was UK PM, i think Signalgate would have brought him down . The rape allegations would have have been sufficient to have been rejected by his constituents. Unable to hold high office in UK with these kinds ofallegations floating around.

I really easy to sneer at what the Americans have done to themselves. In the UK Trump would never get past first base.

    Yes, not good.

They do have these little set-tos every so often though, and they fizzle out to an uneasy peace pretty quickly again. Hopefully the same this time around (though the world feels different now).

Donald Trump wants to create more prison capacity. There's already one free place more than there should be.

I thought that Joe Biden's interview with Nick Robinson was fascinating. It underscored why Trump was right to call Biden out. Biden came across as confused and bewildered. He should have never stood for re-election . The Sleepy Joe description is hard to disagree with after listening to that interview.

Biden should not have run for President and the Democrats were slow to ditch him. I was shocked that he was hardly lucid.

If you, or someone you know, brings their car across to Spain, the Spanish government is is updating its links with the UK so that drivers who commit certain offences here WILL receive fines, sent to their home address in the UK.

I was wondering what posters in here think of the new law which allows a penalty of 3 months imprisionment and £1000 fine for climbing on the statue of Winston Churchill in Westminster.

In my opinion, at the very best Churchill represents freedom against tyranny. It is in the spirit of Churchill to climb and protest on this statue. It is a disgrace that this is now a criminal act.

However , i do feel that this statue which was er3cted in 1973 gas served it's purpose. Churchill was a racist like many of his time. People power saw Coulston's statue taken down in 2020. The same nweds to happen with Churchill who was a terrible and wretched man. Take the statue down and replace Churchill with someone who reflects British values in 2025 such as Sir David Attenborough
