Do you watch any foreign leagues? If you do, is there anyone that looks like a Slot player for the wing back position? I'm thinking foreign because generally you get better value. Frimpong has a €35m release clause.

    It's a benefit for sure.

    Right now my count is

    Jaros x (loan)
    Trent x (traitor)
    Kelleher x (sold for funds)
    Morton x (makeweight)
    Hill X (makeweight)

    leaving the following players.
    Gomez ??
    Jones.
Bradley (Will be senior next season)
Elliott ?? (Will be senior finally but could leave i guess)
Quansah, also a senior next year.
Davies, could be no 3 keeper i guess.

    So we are 2 short.

I guess Chiesa is lucky he got his fifth appearance for us now... As that premier league medal is last silverware he will ever win.

Unlikely to be looking at forwards but Semenyo would be an option and is HG.

Darwin might be off and there's a chance Jota might be off because he wants large bump in his contract and only has a year left.

Chiesa has played as forward and rumours he's leaving too... So another option possibly gone there.

I wouldn't rule us out looking for a forward (or forwards)...

If half the rumours of outgoing are true we're going to be very busy replacing people this summer.

They just think he's an improvement on anything else they've got.

I've read several stories saying that this summer will see a change in the way we approach the transfer market. Obviously all speculation, but the infamous war chest is apparently being opened up and used to purchase whoever Slot wants. Nobody knows yet how much is in there or how many players Slot wants. Looking forward to seeing the extent of Slot's ambition and whether he's going shopping in the footballing equivalent of Harrods or Poundland.

That's not how business works nor how football works bar stupid chavs who will end up with no club assets left.

Lfc have a budget and that won't change.
Psr has a limit and that's no changing this summer.
A half decent player is 50mil. We will be selling and buying to do the business

Look at our spend for 5 years

24/25: £4.14m(1st yay) to pay for fixing midfield and offset lack of cl football.
    23/24: £-92.26m (3rd) to fix midfield.
    22/23: £-53.96m (5th)
    21/22: £-50.02m (2nd)
    20/21: £-56.03m (3rd)

I expect that the anfield road end will start paying itself off but the main stand will also release 12mil (fsh repayment)soon that can pay for fees.

A guess would be 70 to 80mil net. That's what we probably can afford.

    Now add up the sales.
Nunez could be anything if saudi club would pay 65 for Duran.
Morton will still be 8 to 10.
Kelleher will still be 10 to 15
We will try get 10 out of chiesa
There's several nominal fees possible like endo, tsimikas etc

I could see a 250mil spend offset by a sales portfolio.

It's still a case of you'll do very well to get 5 or 6 for that.

And expect a low spend thereafter

My initial thought is that an injury-prone, 33-year-old KDB on £250k pw is less of a gamble than an injury-prone Chiesa on £170k pw. Could be a Gary MacAllister-type deal. That said, that midfield needs energy. Barella-style energy. Can;t see us playing Macca AND KDB in the same midfield unless we went 4-4-2 with KDB at the head of a diamond. Or 3-5-3. perhaps? Thoughts? :emoticon-0138-think

Losing Trent on a free but potentially signing KDB on a free. Something fishy going on here.

No thanks, wouldn’t go down well with city fans either so I doubt he’d entertain it even if we were interested (which we aren’t)

He is coming as a free agent. No problem about that, the only question is his fitness.
