The frustrating thing is that last season we'd just got a small group of singers in the chapel which had the opportunity to grow but then everyone got moved over to the Northam. Ultimately I think it's up to the fans to prove there's sufficient interest for another standing area at that end of the ground. Even if they did the back 5-10 rows of the chapel it'd make a huge difference.
Obviously this season hasn’t helped with everyone except Everton either thumping 3 + goals against us or scoring in the last minute and having something to crow about, but when the away fans were moved so far from the “home end” this situation of fans moving again was totally predictable. The club fell for the line that fans want to stand and sing passionately about Southampton as opposed to getting involved with the away fans. It will take a few seasons to settle, but I’m expecting people moving to be near the away fans will improve the noise levels in this section and it’s just whether enough people wanting to sing and get involved will remain in the Northam Standing and cheaper prices should aide that
The delay can only be down to one or two thing; 1) Waiting to take advantage of the wave of positivity after our glorious 0-0 at Leicester today to secure our 12 points 2) Waiting to see if three teams get huge PSR points reductions and we stay up after all
Surprised Man City haven't received their points deduction this season, seeing as they didn't win the league anyway.
Very intrigued to see what the announcement is like especially if it is this week after this tragic showing.
Presumably this is on Parsons? Whatever the club are waiting for, I fail to see how it can positive. For those ST holders who are unsure whether to renew or not, more and more of them are likely to be making up their minds with every awful defeat.
Yep. The longer before they announce, the less likely I am renewing. Bear in mind I have had a season ticket since 1981 with a break between 1995-1999 when work got in the way. This will be the first break I have chosen and looking more and more likely.
I know it's probably very common in football as a whole but we really do all support a club that is ****ing awful with telling their supporters things. I genuinely can't think of another reason that they haven't released them yet other than they are worried for backlash about something. Like others said I think they were hoping a win against Leicester would soften any potential blow.
Maybe we should be thanking the team for that shambolic display on Saturday then? Instead of an increase we’re now in line for a price reduction?
