I don’t believe Farke was safe until promotion was guaranteed, I also believe his ability to take us forward into next season was possibly discussed at board level My heart is pleased for him to have the chance, my head is expecting an early departure, hope I’m wrong If it does happen, half of us will blame Farke, the other half will blame the board for poor investment, it’s just the way it is I guess
Football clubs are always sounding out the availability of players AND coaches for succession planning. If we’d not got promotion I think DF would have gone, so I’m sure they had a list for the championship and maybe a separate one for the PL. They may also have sat back and waited to see the response to the rumours. None of which matters, he’s made his announcement, the right one in the circumstances in my opinion. Roll on next season.
Didn’t Farke already say a couple of weeks back he had two lists. Most weren’t listening because of all the crap the media were trying to stir at the time
So squad dropped 55m in value. Makes sense after selling three big names yet managed to have an even better season. Well done boss. Looks like I’ll be keeping my avatar for another while
So far over two years the 49ers have pretty much got all the decisions right. Such a welcome change, hope. They can keep it up
Richard Keys on BeIn sports said he knows for a fact, Paraag offered Jose the chance to join us in place of Farke. Jose turned us down and there was no other contender
The special one ain't special anymore, he's had his day in the sun and I think he's beginning to realise it ....
Would he have been better than Farke is the question, I’m glad he never agreed (if he was asked) and you have to admire Paraag for the balls to think there might be better and to go for it after winning the championship Was it Bournemouth who sacked their coach on promotion to the PL?
The story might be true, who knows. Im glad we’re giving DF the chance to show what he can do. This from someone who didn’t really fancy him as manager when he joined 2 yrs ago. I think the crap he dealt with that first summer, to making us highly competitive was first rate. Yes he had some good players at his disposal, but he galvanised them into a decent team. He handled the Gnonto issue very well, I thought. The team just didn’t turn up in the playoff final. This year we had the best team, even after losing lots of talent. Think he’s led really well from the front. Whether we can stay up this season, will depend on the resources he’s given and his ability to work with whatever players he’s got. It’ll also rely on luck with injuries. Personally just glad he’s got the chance to find out.
"Bournemouth manager Scott Parker was sacked by the newly promoted Premier League club Tuesday, three days after they were beaten 9-0 by Liverpool at Anfield. The rout was Bournemouth's third defeat in a row in the league after being beaten 4-0 by Manchester City and 3-0 by Arsenal" They beat Villa 2-0 first game
Thank **** for that, all he does is turn clubs into circus acts these days and I’ve had enough of our club being one of those
Didn’t they also sack Gary O’Neil for Iraola? As an aside Scott Parker’s premier league record is little better than DF but no one seems to be suggesting that he should be replaced.
