Championship Prediction Thread 2024-25 Season

You obviously know a lot more than me.

 

As we have passed the halfway mark of the season, I thought I would give a quick up date on my predicted league table after 23 games.

Any actual position within 5 places of where I predicted and actual points within 6 points of what I predicted I class as being acceptable.

Any team doing worse than I predicted in either places or points is highlighted in Purple and any doing better than I predicted is highlighted in Green.

So I managed to get 11 league places to where I deem acceptable, with ourselves, Burnley and Swansea just one place out from where I predicted. Unfortunately notable misses are QPR, Luton, Hull. Bristol City and Millwall, who were either worse or better than I expected by 11 places

In respect of predicted points total, then 10 clubs managed to get within 6 points of what I expected, with ourselves, Middlesborough, and Portsmouth gaining the exact number of points that I went for, whilst Burnley, and Swansea were 1 point away from what I predicted. Again unfortunately 11 clubs were big misses, by at least 10 points, with the biggest misses being Sunderland (20 points more than what I expected), QPR (17 points less than I expected) and both WBA and Luton (16 points less than I expected) and Sheff Utd (16 points more than I predicted)

 

Just had a quick scan and this looks the best effort so far regarding top 6

 

So even though we have the play offs still to play, whoever wins them will not change the outcome of the prediction table, so I've decided to post the results as they are, as we have a very clear winner.

Green = Correct Prediction and Correct League Placing = 3 points
Yellow = Correct Prediction but incorrect League Placing = 1 point

Orange or Blue = Possible 1 point to be earned with Play Off Winners

and congratulations go to

LeedsDownSouth

SouthernWhite has 2 chances of earning an extra point to finish 5th or 6th, depending on whether Sheffield United or Sunderland get promoted

Foolee despite having the chance of earning an extra point, will still finish last, even though 2020Vision only provided a prediction of Leeds winning the Championship

Think foolee should be deducted points anyway after his tip to win the league got relegated

 

Having won both myself, I can say you're completely wrong! Maybe felt bigger to you as it was such a narrow victory
