To take our minds off the pure dogshit football the Saints have served up this season how about thinking of how good the game can be at its pinnacle. Afraid I am too young to know most of these sides. Certainly the Ajax team was great as was Man U around the turn of the century. I would go for Ancelotti's AC Milan of the 2000s who won two Champions League and were rock solis with Maldini and Nesta, had a midfield of Seedorf, Gattuso, Pirlo and creative flair from Rui Costa, Ronaldo, Kaka and Cafu.
That Celtic team was also great to watch, even on a black and white TV. First team from these islands to win the European Cup. I wonder if you could also put up the Man United team from 1967/68 which was the first English team to lift that trophy? George Best at the peak of his powers was a sight to behold!
I was thinking of the original European cup winning team of Real Madrid too with Puskas and Di Stefano but chose a different club team for each poll slot. I don't know much about Pele's Santos but I think they won a World Club Cup a couple of times in the early 60s.
