Owners wouldn’t be bank rolling the club, we already know that from KLD’s time here so far Let’s have this conversation in a few weeks if we somehow flip performances I expect a Sheff United v Coventry final at Wembley.
See I expect us v sheff utd or Bristol. Because I believe on our day we can best any team in the league and have to trust the coach and the players to perform
I think we’d continue to shop abroad but a higher calibre of player, bring in the experience with frees like Brighton did with the likes of Milner etc, whether it works short term remains to be seen but I think that’s the way we will go about it and is probably the right thing to do aswell
Of course we can beat any side in the league. I’m going off recent form and garbage performances over a period of time. Coventry stuffed us not so long ago, they’ll be confident. I’d love us to suddenly perform but it’ll be tough. Roll on Friday…
I understand the sentiment behind not wanting to get promoted but would love to understand how it works in the play off final? Are you supporting the opposition? I can't imagine not wanting Sunderland to win at Wembley
I don’t it’s ****ing bizarre. Go and support a non-league local if you want to watch ****e every season and never progress.
not wanting to be promoted is like being fat and not wanting to change I don't want to diet/exercise (i dont want promotion), so i'll stay fat forever and eat what I want (stay in the championship and win games).
He's been an excellent player for them, he doesn't owe them anything imo. How many players who play for their boyhood club get released by their boyhood club because they're not good enough? At the end of the day, he's earned everything he's got and both him and Liverpool have benefited from the relationship. They could have sold him last summer when this was on the cards or again on January but they decided they'd rather keep him for the season than make money.
It’ll be interesting to see Liverpool fans reaction to TAA if he plays in their remaining fixtures this season…
I agree massively like. Lad has achieved everything he can there and been an absolute pivotal part of their success. Whether Liverpool fans like it or not, Real Madrid are a way bigger club, the biggest in the world and not many players, especially British, get to play for them. It’s rare Liverpool lose players but that’s how the food chain in football works. It’s like us slagging Henderson off for leaving to go to Liverpool, wouldn’t make sense. All you can ask is they give their all, contribute and if the time comes a bigger club want them, then so be it.
In decades following this club I've enjoyed the last 5 years more than any other period. Bizarre. With var and the state ownership the PL doesn't instantly appeal tbh. Ideal scenario would be all the bit part players making up the numbers currently happy with their crumbs at the table, like good little dogs, joined together and told the few to fek off, and started their own league. Would be glorious.
Probably because it’s the championship to be fair and the performances have been awful for months. I don’t agree with booing but I can see why some are frustrated. Completely different to the PL as anybody with a brain should expect a lot more defeats
Not sure who it was the other day who said on here there’s a lot to strive for being up there. A cup final, having 20-40m players upfront like Bournemouth, playing against the big clubs again. For me aswell seeing us get coverage on MNF, Super Sunday, MOTD again will be a great feeling. For me football is all about getting the highest we possibly can for me and always wanting the best. I support this club as one day even though very unlikely I’d love to see us have a European night at the SOL. We are a massive club with a massive fanbase and a great stadium. We have all the potential in the world to get to the top eventually
Oh and also to add to that. If we come back down at least we are one of the clubs with parachute payments that can win the league or get auto’s the next season if we keep doing it right
