I'd put Rigg on the right like when he first came in to the side to allow ELF to play centrally. Let Watson and Mundle have minutes on the left, and Rigg and Roberts on the right.
Good points mate. We were rubbish that day, but their midfield 3 are very good indeed. Partly why I only want Neil deep. Rudoni should be the only one on him if we can make Grimes and Sheaf to worried about Jobe and Le Fee getting behind them. Neil on the ball 1v1 is great, when he gets swarmed he can be slow. Wright is clearly their main man. We need to try and move him away from the danger zone which is why I would move us 10 yards higher. Football is about territory a lot these days imo. Just making your backline higher is a simple way to either compress the game and leave no space for good midfielders, or it can move every line and the only option for the oppo is one over the top.
I'm interested to see if they go with Simms up front and Wright wide left, or Wright up front considering he caused us a load of problems recently playing as the striker.
I agree ,and the team is there, but lacks leadership the omens are not favourable, but who knows , none of us do..
I want him left. Let Hume have a look at him early. But they would be mad not to play him through the middle. If he does this is where the players have to make a call. I would let Mepham take him and Luke play spare.
I agree. It’s a gamble away pressing high and of course the game dictates it to an extent but the simple facts are that they do concede goals and despite our lack of goals the biggest strength of our players is going forwards. I think we have to score at Cov to win this tie. There are too many examples of teams closing us out at home. We need Coventry chasing a win.
I'm not too sure tbh. Maybe a 1 nil defeat at Coventry won't be too much of a bad thing as they could come up here and try to sit back. I'm confident over a 90 minute period we would score to square it up and then the Lads will have the momentum and confidence to keep going for it whereas Coventry could collapse. All theoretical but I could see that happening.
He had them up for their recent away games at Hull, Plymouth and Luton, all poor teams … … they came out with one point from those, all vital games. Coventry don’t win just because Lampard wants them to.
That wasn’t my point. It was more I think they’ll attack us 2nd leg, regardless of the score from the first game.
If I knew how KLD thinks I could answer, but I certainly wouldn’t like my first visit to his office if we do.
They attacked Luton away and didn't have an attempt on goal, in ninety minutes … … they’re poor away from home. Just because Lampard wants them to score it doesn’t mean they will.
Christ, we’re struggling if we are picking out stats from recent games considering we’ve been lifting for a while now.
Absolutely not, you make a good point about Coventry, especially away from home. I hope we’re still well in the tie bringing them back up here
I know people will leave but this year if we had the same squad plus fit to play alternative versions of Cirkin Ballard Huggins Poveda Samed and a replacement for Aouchiche and Rusyn who for our style of play we may have made the top two. There are valid criticisms of Le Bris over the last 10 games but, despite me supporting the club and its methods, there were mistakes made in recruitment that hamstrung Le Bris. I know players get injured but we had a lot out.
