Good Morning. It's Monday 5th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Farke is going nowhere Leeds United Chairman Paraag Marathe has issued a resounding vote of confidence in manager Daniel Farke, effectively silencing recent speculation about his future at the club. Dismissing much of the negative press as unfounded, Marathe publicly reaffirmed his complete support for Farke, confirming that he will lead the Whites back into the Premier League next season. Marathe's statement wasn't simply a show of support; it outlined a clear vision for the upcoming season and beyond. He emphasised the collaborative spirit within the club's leadership, highlighting the ongoing partnerships with Managing Director Robbie Evans and Sporting Director Adam Underwood. The goal, he stressed, is to build the strongest possible squad within the club's financial parameters, a task made more challenging by the historically high relegation rate for newly-promoted teams. However, Marathe expressed unwavering confidence in Leeds' ability to defy the odds. He pointed to several key advantages setting Leeds apart from other recently relegated teams like Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton. Farke's leadership, praised for its calming influence and ability to inspire players, staff, and supporters alike, is central to this optimism. Marathe recounted an instance where Farke's unwavering belief in promotion remained steadfast even after a disappointing draw, showcasing the manager's resilience and leadership qualities. The chairman revealed that despite remaining publicly silent amidst the swirling speculation, he maintained private communication with Farke, consistently assuring him of the club’s unwavering support. He underscored several crucial factors contributing to Leeds' enhanced position: Farke's coaching staff, strong team spirit, fervent community support evidenced by a substantial season ticket waiting list, a lucrative sponsorship deal with Red Bull, and meticulous pre-season planning. These elements, coupled with a strategic approach to player acquisition, are expected to significantly bolster Leeds' chances of Premier League survival. While acknowledging the departures of Messrs Kinnear, Hammond and Penrice, Marathe insisted that the club’s transfer strategy remains a collaborative effort, ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining market efficiency. The overall message from the Chairman is one of collective commitment to long-term success through informed decision-making and a clear, unified vision for the future of Leeds United. The club is betting on Farke, and his continued presence at the helm signals a determined push for Premier League survival. please log in to view this image Let's get this party started Leeds Utd will finally have their moment. The City missed out on a proper promotion party in 2020 due to Covid restrictions, but are making up for lost time, fueled by securing the Championship title after Manor Solomon's injury time winner. The scenes in Plymouth last weekend, where thousands of travelling Leeds fans celebrated promotion and then the Championship title win, echoed the fervor of a similar pilgrimage 35 years ago. Then, as now, Leeds descended upon the South Coast, leaving an indelible mark – though thankfully, this time, the pubs merely ran dry, not the town itself! Two days after lifting the Championship trophy, the party officially rolls into Leeds with an open-top bus parade. The route, a mile-long spectacle, will wind its way through the heart of the city, encompassing Headrow, City Square, Boar Lane, New Market Street, and sections of Wellington Street and Vicar Lane. It’s a parade designed not for a single viewing point, but for the entire City to share. Our heroes are expected to arrive at around 1 pm, with the parade lasting approximately one to one-and-a-half hours. Given the anticipated massive turnout, fans are encouraged to line the entire route, creating a sea of white and yellow roaring cheers. Farke and the players themselves will be actively engaging with the crowd, ensuring an interactive, celebratory atmosphere. This is Leeds' moment, and the entire city is ready to embrace it. please log in to view this image
A great summer ahead. All we can ask now is that the 49ers push the boundaries to its limit in supporting Farke and if we still fall short and go back down, what the hell, well have given it our best shot. That's all that can be asked of the club. Will make games more palatable knowing were giving it our best, the Leeds way
Going to enjoy the celebrations today and salute every player and member of staff for their efforts this season. I'm excited for next season but I'm also a realist. It's going to be bloody tough. Buying the right players is crucial to our chances. 17th position is my personal title position. I'm not deluded. will lose way more than we win There will be some really uncomfortable weekends. but, this is where we have to be. we can only go forward by babysteps and try to establish this club at the top end and the longer we are there the better it will become. Goodluck to Farke he deserves a shot I just hope the club back him and give him that personal go at the big time. In a month or so time it will be time to play hardball sometimes brutal. some players will make the grade up. many won't and be told thankyou but your time is up here. Nothing is guaranteed but recruitment is massive we can't take chances this first season we have to try and go proven players. It won't be cheap but we can't go raiding the top players from the championship and hope. Ipswich tried that and have fell short big time. Well done Lads let's see what the future brings.
Also players like Aaronson,Gnonto,Wober Thanks for the work this season but If we were wanting to let any go so be it. They all left or wanted to leave us when the shyte hit the fan now we are back we could easily repay them with the same attitude. they all took our highs to lows and left us or threw their toys out the pram when we needed them most. We are in that position to do the same back, I'm not saying to do it out of spite but i honestly wouldn't bat a eyelid if it did happen.
Morning all Let's get the party started and finished and on to the serious stuff of planning for next season. I know it sounds killjoy, but I am not interested in the bus parade, it's only the championship title, it feels like celebrating a charity shield win, I understand it is give the players their special day but it is not the FA cup or PL title We have the the loan sharks already sorted, just Harrison left to go and at least we are back in control of that. The decision has been made on Farke so at the least, it gives us continuity. We seem more stable and balanced this time around, expectations are to avoid relegation, no silliness like competing for Europe in 2 years time, I think we are all more grounded
spot on fella… everyone knows it’s a tough ask… there’s no obvious ‘strugglers’ in the prem to pick off, what we want to see is us giving it a right go - and if it isn’t good enough so be it.
I really don’t have a problem with the rats… those contracts were designed to pretty much force them out to save the club wages. Did they all give their all when selected this season? Yes in my view. Clean slate… if the club thinks they’re good enough for the squad… great. If not then they can go, but purely a footballing decision
can we bookmark this We’re all sensible now but Leeds fans and grounded???… win the first game and we’ll be talking champions league. Lose the first game and we’ll be chucking the relegation towel in
Morning all Wanted to go to the parade today but the kids have won and we're going to the local Chav fayre. The hard work starts here. I don't want the board to get wrapped up in this stupid spend big idea. We need to spend smart.. Tap up the less popular leagues use Red Bull for scouting purposes. After we sell who we need to sell and that does include posh paddy then I reckon we need 12 new players to make it up to the 25 man mark.
Just got to the pub from town.****ing he'll, "we're gonna need a bigger boat" said our chairman It was absolutely ****ing rammed in the city centre
Ohhhhh my head Anyways Not sure if anyone else has posted this But i wish i was their https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cj0z3drn3q8t
Still in the boozer in Leeds. It's rammed. FWIW this was my view https://youtube.com/shorts/I1uQkouC-mQ?si=X8LcKFXnbkvZ7bC3
Watched every minute of it and loved it. Leeds did itself proud today. Maratha is beginning to grow on me after he dropped the f bomb today. It’s been a cracking two weeks celebrating. Scenes that will live with fans all their lives
Bradford City have theirs tomorrow. They couldn't have it today because all the police were in Leeds. I hope both of them enjoy their day out.
