I’m not sure who id go for but I’d hope the fact that Thorup chose to play Reyes over Long would mean that people in the club are aware that Long isn’t the answer as first choice

I said this on the match thread, but it's more relevant here: I wonder whether we could be interested in signing Salech if Sargent leaves. Cardiff paid €4m for him in January and he has 10 goals in 15 starts and 6 sub appearances. At 6'5" he's still very mobile and pacy and could be quite a handful and available a reasonable price.
It’s likely that Sainz, Sargent and possibly Nunez will leave if offers match the clubs valuation. Have any valuations coming from CR been mentioned in the media? If not, what offers do you feel that these players might attract?
No Championship Club could afford a decent fee or higher wages and the top 10 EPL Clubs are the only Clubs spending big money - the rest are after bargains. What are they worth? In my opinion far less than what our fans think they are worth. Radford available for £40m, Watkin the same, Delap £30m, Buendia £35m , Smith-Rowe sold for £35m, - not looking good.
Buendia for £35m; I think that was about what we sold him to AV for. Read a rumour that Sainz is being sought for £11.5m. So it’s the likes of Leeds and Burnley who are the possible suitors for our top players?
When Leeds asked Villa about Buendia that is the fee quoted allegedly. Presumably they will take £25m. We are not in a good position. If Leeds or Palace etc offered to triple Sargents wages and only offered us £15m what can we do unless another Club came in and offered more? In fairness to the player we would have to accept.
We can’t accept £15m for Sarge and he would have to understand that. £25m for Sargent - goalscorers are expensive and he is a proper number 9 coming into his prime years with a couple of years on his deal. £12-15m for Sainz maybe a little less and I’d still be happy. His output has been decent this season but I’d like to see more assists from a winger. We got him for a free so it’s all profit. £10m for Nunez, probably the most undervalued but there are plenty of CMs about. Not on the same level as Sara IMO, but a good player at this level no doubt. Everton were interested in Jan I think and the rumoured figure was £7m
