This is what I mean about putting our full side out and messing with their CL chances. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Do people not get that this lot have "probably" just secured champions league football with a gift from us?

    They are celebrating that.

They had Newcastle, man utd and forest to come so this absolute gift has put them 5th with forest playing palace away tomorrow.

If Chelsea can manage it now 5th can be theirs.

Newcastle drew with Brighton, a result there is decisive.
Man utd are only interested in europa league
Forest game is then do or die at the end and they are likely to have a lead going into that game.

They are not just celebrating beating lfc.

I know. Did I not make that point? I understand Slot wanting to check out the squad players, and the Maccas and Szobbos and Gravys have earned a rest, but we just handed a mediocre Chelsea team a CL place, and they'll use that to be a stronger squad next year than Villa, Forest, or Newcastle could be.

Slot won't play this starting line up against Arsenal. He’ll want to beat them to show them why we are champions.

They hit the inside of the post and the top of the bar, but okay. We certainly had more than one chance to score, that's for sure.

I mean the top of the bar was a cross that hit the top of the bar, I wouldn’t put that down as a chance as Ali was right underneath it so was never going in.

We've already won the league so I don't think there's any point in over analysing or being critical but I will say it again, I wish Szoboszlai would stop with the back heels to nobody. Bradley was excellent and Endo deserves a mention for getting stuck in where others were standing off.

Endo was the best of the changes, but it's probably easier for him to just fit in when called upon because of the nature of his role. He's basically just doing his job, breaking up attacks and harassing players and his performance is largely down to him alone. Players like Elliott, for instance, have to link up more with others, and that is harder when you're just drafted in occasionally.
I'm not putting Endo down, I've been happy with his performances this season, just saying I think being a destroyer is just down to you, whereas a creator needs to establish more of a rapport with team-mates and that means more time playing with them.

I watched the guard of honour but then missed the opening 30mins and I genuinely wasn't bothered about missing it, seasons already over...

I agree with all of this. I always try and focus on the positives and pick out my players of the match. I mentioned Szoboszlai because it's an aspect of his game that I've noticed before as being irritating but yesterday it was costly.

That alone is enough to say bye.

He tried. He genuinely tried yesterday.

    Jota didn't try.

I have contempt for one and not the other.

Both should be got rid of.

Slot must not make the same mistake against Arsenal.

As I said it's a very big test for slot for thr remainder of the season.

Why he chose an away game against a side hoping for cl football to give that many players a go i don't know.

But I hope he's seen all he needs to.

Effort has never really been the problem (though his head dropped when he missed that open goal against Villa). Sometimes he's tried too hard. But we can't make the same mistake we made in 2020 when, after winning the title and finally getting the monkey off our backs, the owners used Covid to not strengthen the squad. No excuses now, and that means cutting the deadwood. He's one player though that if he went to Spain or Italy I'd really wish him well. Even if we got more money from the Saudis for him, I don't think he should go there yet. But he should go.

Now is the time to make mistakes.

I think he should continue experimenting with rotations but not necessarily so many all at once. Harder to learn who can do the job right when you replace so many moving parts at once.
