Plenty on twitter stil not over him, with many calls to bring him back No, just no, a million times over. Loved Ralph but he was beyond done here.
Definitely not for me. We always collapsed late in the season under him (covid one excepted for obvious reasons) and that would be even worse in a 46 game season you'd assume.
If it’s Gerrard, I might make a free transfer of myself to Brighton. And I’ll join you on the SR out train
So he got something in 1 of the 8..? Let’s get him in and see if he can recreate that in one of the next 3 games here!
I'm not sure if he's really as bad as all that. He's no Rooney. Did very well with Rangers and tbh did okay-ish with Villa (although I know their fans hated him). Plus he was in charge when Villa destroyed us 4-0 under Ralph, in the game that started our descent into what we've become. (Ironically some people want Ralph back though). Would probably do well at one of the bigger Champ clubs. Still prefer almost anyone else mentioned, mind.
League results since their last win on 1 March: 1-1 St Pauli (h) - they were 1-0 down 0-1 Augsburg (a) 0-1 Heidenheim (h) 0-1 Union Berlin (a) 2-3 Leipzig (a) - they were 3-0 down 2-2 Mainz (a) - they were 1-0 up, and 2-1 down 0-1 Freiburg (h) 0-4 Dortmund (a) Only five wins in all competitions since early December (when their good run of form ended).
Klopp recently approached Fabregas for the Leipzig job, so maybe Rohl is not heading there after all.
Well there’s no question, SR have boxed themselves. Whether it’s an “obvious” or an “out of the box” it’s going to be a limited appointment & the proof will be within 10 games.
Easy to over react to any appointment tbh. Ralph would be a coup for any championship team (imagine how we'd feel if leicester got him). Rohl similar. I don't want Gerrard but equally could see SR backing someone like him more than others. I just want an appointment in the next week or two so we can prepare for what I think is a massively important season for us as a club.
Not a Gerrard fan at all. I thought he was over-rated as a player and useless as a manager. Never unserstood why he was so admired. He was no Jimmy Case !
I am partly with you. He was a great player, but IMO not as good as he was hyped up to be. More his reputation. As a manager, I am really not sure at all. Not as big a disaster as Rooney, but a no from me. In fact if we had to have a player from that era - out of Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard, I would take Lampard out of that three.
