Congratulations on taking the title - well deserved <cheers>
Well, we made the playoffs (just).
The league is reset to 0.
    Points count for nothing now.
It’s in our hands. I really hope we can join you - it’s been over 40 years since we tasted top flight football and it’s long overdue in our part of the country !!!!

I hope you enjoy watching the playoffs - it’s a bit stressful from where we are <laugh>

Interesting thing Is all four teams seem to have poor form at present. Blunts awful end to season as had Sunderland. Bristol were brutal against us. Coventry probably as good as any of the four but zero chance of the play off winners surviving next season

Our away form is not great - and we were absolute dog ****e against you, but our home form is up there with the best in the league.
We need to make that count.
And we are under no illusion about how difficult it would be staying in if we do go up - you are right - we’ll probably come straight back down - but we should always strive to play at the highest level and I’d take being a ‘yo yo’ side rather than being safe mid-table championship like we’ve been for years.
I was 13 when we were last in the top flight - I’m 58 now!!
    It’s time for a different ride….!

Interestingly, over the past 10 games our form is the best of all the playoff teams (points gained):
    Bristol City: 15
    Sheffield Utd: 14
    Coventry: 13
    Sunderland: 8

… and that’s despite our Luton debacle and the thumping you gave us at yours.

Towards the end of last season, we had a discussion about play offs and because I like numbers, I looked into the chances of play off promotions, and all I will say is that recent history is not in your favour. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

With the 2023/24 play offs, that stats for the last 7 seasons shows that the team finishing either 3rd or 4th in the league, each wins the playoffs 43%, the team finishing 5th wins 14%, whilst the team finishing 6th has failed to win the play offs.

Time for your team to break that sequence :emoticon-0100-smile
