I was at the match yesterday and I thought that the performance was quite good, a really good save from their keeper stopped us taking the lead, an odd decision to give Reading a dropped ball when we were in possession led to them taking the lead, then one cleared off the line stopped the equaliser and as we pushed for the goal to draw level we left our selves open at the back. Didn't think they deserved to be booed off at the end of the game, so its onwards and downwards
I think the booing was for most of the rest of the season, whatever the team are doing now is too little, too late. Being on 42 points with 10 games remaining and ending up with 43 points with one game remaining is appalling and an insult to the fans. Too many “don’t care” performances under both managers has led us to League 2. Hopefully, most of the current squad will go away because they don’t have the fight, attitude or ability to get us promoted next season.
I watched the game on sky plus. 2 of their players collided with each and 1 went down and stayed down. Wasn't a head injury and ref's are only supposed to stop a game if its a head injury, which it wasn't. We were actually the team looking most likely to score at that time, really putting the pressure on them. We had the possession like you said and the ref blew his whistle to check on their player even though wasn't a head injury. He was supposed to give the ball back to us to resume possession yet he gave it to their keeper. The time that was wasted during that incident lost Rovers the momentum they were building and then a lapse in concentration and bang, 1-0 down. But the last 10 games were not good enough. All season was not good enough. Some stats..... 26 defeats = 2nd most 12 wins = 4th least 72 goals conceded = 4th most 43 goals scored = 4th least 18 games without a goal = 2nd most XG conceded = 1st most -29 goal difference = 2nd worst Getting just 5 points from losing positions The worst away record

8th minute Taylor Moore wins from a loose pass by Coulson and plays in Dewsbury who is knocked off the ball but wins a corner which comes to nothing as Connor Taylor sees the ball out for a goal kick 11th minute Apter plays in Ennis bur Ward gets the ball first to deny Ennis a tap in Posh have the only goal scored in league 1 at present 14th minute another corner conceded by Mola finds the head of Baggott who heads wide 16th minute a cross by Taylor Moore is met by Hutchinson but he cant direct it on target 18th minute goal to Bristol Rovers O'Donkor scores Blackpool 0 - 1 Rovers didn't see that coming today 19th minute Bloxham forces a good save from Ward straight from the restart
23rd minute Shaw fires over the top from outside the box 26th minute another corner to Blackpool Daniel thinks it was conceded by Swinkels who made the clearance which came to nothing 28th minute corner to Rovers and with no further comments I assume that came to nothing as well 35th minute Apter drills in a good effort which is well caught by Ward 37th minute Connor Taylor down injured and getting treatment with Daniel saying he looks in pain, rest of the players having a drinks break 38th minute is walking it off and just waiting to be allowed back on the pitch 40th minute Bloxham scores for Blackpool 1 - 1 Rovers, goal stems from a bad pass by Ward ball passed to Ennis whose shot is saved but the ball falls to Bloxham for a tap in, the goal appears to have woken up the Blackpool crowd 45+1 Taylor Moore clears at the back post for another corner 2 minutes added time to be played HT Blackpool 1 - 1 Rovers
Final half of the season has started most of the players seem to be intent in putting on a performance today 56th minute Morgan scores for Blackpool 2 - 1 Rovers, that's the first comment by Daniel apart from saying the 2nd half had started 57th minute O'Donkor and Mola off Sawyers and Sousa returning from injury and making his last appearance for Rovers on. if the current scores stay the same Reading will miss out on the playoff's 8 minutes since the last update sounds as if both teams have gone to the beach 70th minute Sawyers shot is blocked and the rebound fall to Dewsbury who forces a good save from their GK 73rd minute final throw of the dice Thomas, Lindsay and Reindorf on Swinkels, Hutchinson and Dewsbury off
74th minute Reindorf curls one towards the bottom corner forcing their keeper into a good save and a minute later he gets a header on target from a corner 76th minute Ennis scores for Blackpool 3 - 1 Rovers 8 minutes plus extra time to get 3 goals and win our last league 1 match, we look to stay in 22nd position as Crawley are winning at Shrewsbury 90th minute Finnigan scores for Blackpool 4 - 1 Rovers According to Sky there was 2 minutes of extra time which they are saying have been played so goodnight Irene see you in league 2 FT Blackpool 4 - 1 Rovers Reading fail to make playoffs, our near neighbours play Sheffield United in their playoff fixtures
I am hoping that our new DOF will have some good players lined up and whoever the manager is will be allowed to bring in the players he wants not the ones the owners son wants, Hunt, Sinclair and G Ward not selected today for the squad and possibly looked to have played their last Rovers game, Sawyers was signed on a short term contract I think and I hope that isn't renewed. We need creativity in the middle of the park and someone who knows how to score goals, as we are relegated I can see Shaw Connor Taylor J ward and Kamil Conteh who has a release clause in his contract all leaving this Summer and probably joined by Chris Martin who is past his prime we are going to be short of quality if the right players aren't found, would like to see Swinkels back but cannot see Villa letting come back into a league 2 side McCormick, Jevani Brown also don't seem to be in anyone's list of players who could be staying Hope our new owner has a few pounds to spare in strengthening the team
Dan Hargraves on twitter... Inigo Calderon has said he will "accept whatever happens" in response to questions about his future, adding that he felt he hasn't "done my job properly". Don't want to speculate too much but it's tough to see a scenario where he stays on at this moment. Let's see. Also said that there has been a lot of "noise" and "nonsense" from outside that hasn't helped. Referring to the rumours about behind the scenes but didn't specify from who specifically. Did also ask IC about the players missing today and if they’ll be at the club next season. He said that it wasn’t for him to say.
From OS... Iñigo Calderón stated Bristol Rovers defeat to Blackpool was ‘painful’ after the Gas lost 4-1 to Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Calderón reflected on the defeat before speaking about Ollie Dewsbury, who made his first start for Rovers. “I was quite naive thinking that maybe we could have a good last day. The first half, more or less, we know their best qualities, but still we were alright. We scored a goal. It was not the best one, but a goal and after a mistake, we conceded. I think the start of the second half was not good. Especially, the last part of the game was difficult to watch. It was painful to watch. It has been a tough season, a tough week, and probably to stay in the game was too much to ask today. I have to say it like that. I think in the first half, we were alright, and when we scored, we were alright. It’s true that when we conceded the goal, and in the second half, we started to go to the other side of the game that you don’t want. The last 30 minutes were difficult to watch. I think we have been alright until we concede a goal, and then we look so weak after that. It has been a tough season for the boys and everyone at the club. So, as soon as that happens and we are not in the game, it is a nightmare. It’s been difficult. I think we have to be better. I think we lack a bit in the final third. We need to improve defensively. We’re still conceding chances. It's true that in the last third, if you don’t produce enough, sometimes it’s the game plan, but it was clear that as soon as we lost too many strikers, we struggled to score goals, and that’s been the issue. In the game against Reading, we created chances, but in the end, we couldn’t score them. That’s the wonderful part of football, scoring goals, and we were not good at that. I think Ollie Dewsbury has been unlucky in terms of the situation we have been in because I was even thinking about playing him against Reading from the start, but I didn’t feel that was fair for him. I would say that if we had more points, he would play more minutes, but I thought it was not fair to put him under that much pressure. He played today from the start. Credit to the academy. I think it’s important that we have some positives, and players coming through the system is really important for the football club.”
