That's definitely town councils, but local councils have quite a lot of power Lots of meetings though. I know my chap on the council really well, so it will be interesting to get his take on trying to work with Reform.
You can be our Guienea Pig mate Haven't the local councils already held an independent inquiry into the grooming gangs ?
**** knows. What was the outcome? How many people were sacked and how many people were turned over to the police? Im going to guess 0. Let’s have proper investigations where people are held to account. Young kids lives were ruined. Let’s go after all the people who knew and turned a blind eye or refused to act on it. Plenty of Labour councillors should rightfully be ****ting themselves now.
I think there was a whole raft of recommendations that were made and the last Govt just sat on it. I think that's why Starmer has been saying they need to implement them now, rather than have another inquiry as that will just delay stuff As for criminal convictions, I think lots of the perpetrators were locked up. As for local councillors, I don't know mate.
**** the recommendations mate. It was covered up by these councils. Any of the ****s that were responsible for letting the bairns suffer and not intervening, I want to see their heads stuck on a spike outside every council office.
You’d think she’d spend more time talking about her years at Sheffield Wednesday and Celtic in the late 90s
I don't know how you retrace the steps about which councillors knew what, at what time. But yeah I agree that if there were people who knew what was happening and tried to cover it up, then they need to face criminal charges.
Joining the Tory party is like being the 38 year old former PL star who's plugging away for a final pay cheque at Doncaster Rovers
KCC forecast a shortfall of £144M under the Tories, I can't see how any party will turn that around. Seems adult social care is the problem and it will need government to address that... https://news.kent.gov.uk/articles/t...c-leader-tells-councillors-as-budget-approved “The bleakest picture of all remains in adult social care. An area that remains under severe pressure, an area of structural flaws in terms of policy which only Government can actually address. This Government could say, with some justification, that successive administrations of whatever party have failed and fudged this issue. Nonetheless in these last 7 months we have seen a lethal cocktail of policies that make this so very much worse. “Cost increases, in particular in terms of employer’s national insurance, as well as increases in the national living wage, we have taken together, giving an 11% increase in providers’ costs and presenting a real risk to the stability of that sector.
Not everyone has a local election mate, some will be held in a different year. So for example Medway Council was in 2023.
Probably because the police were turning a blind eye, and that was nothing to do with the council* , just as they used to about the same type of situation around care homes years ago as all they ever did was return the children back to the home . * but yes council staff should face the consequences but the problem was wider than just them .
I see... So it's just mainly poor people who are racist far right idiots with fears. please log in to view this image
The golden bullet is simple. Gun boats on the shores shooting invaders. But our army is busy doing thier real job of protecting the establishments interests in Ukraine
Probably too easy for people to come over in a boat. What we should really do probably create a floating island in the atlantic ocean and throw all the asylum seekers there until they are processed (or throw them on the isle of wight). Really we want to be setting up processing centres not on uk shores but since we wont do that so i guess the alternative is some illegal migration ghetto until they are processed. I wouldnt be against.
