It’s ****ing typical, it’s the one time I might actually want spurs to win something, but as serial bottlers they clearly won’t. Those second tier euro competitions are utter **** mind. If we end up in one of them we will win it.
Chelsea will most likely get pumped by the bin dippers at the weekend so we need to take the opportunity to widen the gap. 2 more wins should do it for us, the sooner we get them the better!
Not convinced. They're lucky to be playing Liverpool after the title is already won and it's not the foregone conclusion I think it would have been a couple of weeks ago. This weekend Forest, Chelsea, City, Villa and Arsenal are ALL playing at home whilst we play away so it's probably about damage limitation. If we're still top 5 after it going into next weekend then we're laughing.
Interesting game to watch as Brentford were by far the better team and Forest seem to have lost the spark they had earlier in the season. Also confirmed to me that we shouldn't be spending heavily on Mbuemo. He doesn't suit Howe's style of play - his work rate is not brilliant and his passing is awful. Number of times he gave the ball away in the 2nd half makes me think our money could be better spent elsewhere.
The change in the CL has certainly reduced the quality of teams in knockout stages of the Europa and Europa Conference. The incentive of a place in the following years CL or Europa competition has meant that the teams in them, have an achievable incentive, and the managers of the better teams in it may value them more than their respective domestic leagues, particularly if like, Spurs and Man Utd, they have lost their chance of qualifying for the CL through their league positions. I suppose it achieves what UEFA wanted but probably has a detrimental effect on the domestic leagues.
Either would be good signings, but Mbuemo is a ready player and dibling will take some work. I think either would be great or even both.
Yes. Yes I do. I find it funny how some players start playing exceptionally well after always being **** then starts playing ****e again and it's "we should have sold him" and here we have Murphy and those same people are like "noooooo, are you ****ing kidding, you can't sell him. Yeah I know he won't be great as an impact sub but he'll be a great sub to have"
Said it about Miggy after his purple patch and this summer is the same with Murphinho. His stock is as high as it’s been with us and Im sure you could get £20m for him off a lower half/promoted team this summer. Tbf to him though I’d be happy with him as a squad player, he loves the club, consummate pro who won’t throw his toys out the pram if he’s not getting the games and can contribute when needed. In that he’s our only RW currently I can’t see him being sold but if he goes I’ll wish him the best if he stays I’ll look forward to some potential gifs!
The problem is, for me anyway, that he won't be able to do what he has been doing in 10-15 minute sub appearances. Unless..... We get someone like DCL to come on as well at the same time
This is what financial and owner rules 'should' be doing. Protecting clubs from going into administration due to ****ty owners. But no, the rules we actually have in place are all about protecting revenues for the dirty 6 instead. Under rhe.oretence it us ro help clubs from folding. Well, over 21,000 Reading fans watching them in League 1, in defiance of the ****ty owner about to take them into administration. Fair play. Football fans unite.
