One last match, which, thankfully given the season we've had, is a 'nothing to play for' game. Our opposition have already secured their playoff place, and a fourth placed finish. They will face Sheffield United in the playoffs, and I suspect we'll see a second string side as they look to save energy and go into the playoffs well rested. Their top scorer this season is Wilson Isidor with 12 goals. As for us, we went into this season expecting so much more...many of us hoping for a top ten finish with a view of a playoff push next year, or the year after. That hasn't materialized and instead we find ourselves with possibility of finishing as low as 18th if we get thumped and Stoke get a big win, or as high as 13th with a win and Watford and Norwich both losing. Plus we've got a manager on gardening leave, and looks like next season will be starting from scratch...again. It isn't what I'd hoped I'd be writing on the last match day thread at the start of the season. Preview from Kevin Betsy and Xavi Calm here; https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2025/may/01/betsy---calm-preview-sunderland/ Enjoy if you are making the trip, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
It’s a punishment beating for our poor life decisions. Will the travelling faithful sing the Cifuentes song?
It seems to me that the players have a chance to send a message to The Board with the last game. Deliberately losing might be interpreted as a sign of support for MC. Unlikely, and probably would not change anything even if they did. Won't happen but just a random crazy thought.
The travelling fans have missed a trick if they don’t go to this one in gardening wear. I shall be watching in the pub with my pitchfork and watering can.
