Those old enough to remember the loony Labour government of the 1970s can probably remember blackouts and living by candlelight and battery-powered radios. The Spanish went back to the 1970s this week. Their loony Left government is as obsessed with Net Zero as our loony Left government.

On 16th April, Spain was bragging about how all of their electricity that day came from Renewables. In such a sunny country it makes sense to have solar panels all over the place when you have no plans to try and dim the sun, which would be catastrophic to your tourist industry.

Of course the problem is that when the sun stops shining and the wind stops blowing you need a reliable back up to pick up the slack. You could charge up some batteries when the sun and the wind are producing too much energy rather than pay to have the solar panels and wind turbines switched off. Or you could use gas to produce energy.

So stock up on batteries as the Net Zero religion does away with old reliable energy.

Bats can manage without light but the morons behind this ideology have bat sh*t for brains.

The last government had the wheeze of charging an additional windfall tax on oil and gas producers. That drove up their costs and reduced their profits. The current regime has retained the tax.

Our energy prices (no matter what source they come from) are based on the price of gas. So when you clobber gas producers with a tax rate of 78% it is not unsurprising that the cost of gas – upon which general energy prices are calculated – goes up.

With Net Zero zealots – led by Ed Miliband – trying to phase out all fossil fuels, investment in UK oil and gas reserves is in serious decline. Ironically, we actually import gas from Norway, who are extracting it from the same North Sea that we are shutting down.

If we were extracting more of our own gas from the North Sea then the wholesale cost of gas would be driven down, reducing everyone’s bills. Instead high taxes are pushing up bills:

I was wondering about the dimming the sunlight thing. If we in the UK decide that Shropshire is a bit warm and create a cloud of glitter to deflect the sun's rays away how can we be so sure it will target a small area? Logic takes over and it is obvious such tactics cannot be directed at small areas so the sun dimming exercise will affect a larger surface area, question is how large?

What if Denmark wants to dim the sun for a while but neighbouring Sweden says it doesn't? If you can't target a specific area and countries next to you are going to be in the dark/dusk don't you need their permission? Unless you get agreement from every single nation affected by the process it could lead to conflict. Also, to say that dimming the sun would have no affect on weather patterns seems preposterous as sunlight heating up land masses generates wind and evaporation creates rain. Pissing about with sunlight would certainly affect the very things that drives our weather.

Forgive my skepticism but I rather think we are spunking £50million up the wall and the only people who will benefit will be the scientists pissing themselves laughing all the way to the bank.

Well he's going to be a bit pissed off when our Government (who are mad about net zero and pushing solar panels to the masses) start seeding the air with reflective particles to deflect the suns light and stop the World getting hot.
How ****ing stupid are this lot in charge <laugh>
