I think we should close the thread down the minute we sign some Teenager for £2m and someone puts we beat Real Madrid, Man City and Arsenal to his signature
All you lot saying the stadium plans look alright. You were that those lads every Saturday night in the club @ 2 am justifying your pick of the last available ladies It’s ok. Same rules apply. Just because it’s fugly doesn’t mean you can’t have fun it.
The only other option is a new ground built elsewhere but I’m sure most fans would rebel against that.
seriously, if you start with a pig’s ear there’s only so much you can do. I’d presumed they would replace all stands (and maybe this design allows for that in the future. As it is, it looks like what it is… a new ground spliced with an old one. The experience inside is more important than the aesthetics. Which kind of brings me back to my analogy
Youre right. My main hope is that by installing an extra 9k hospitality, which I know are needed, we don't dilute the wonderful atmosphere. To be honest I quite like the new design. Just hope it comes to happen
You are right and, as long as the hospitality includes seats in stands it shouldn't be a massive issue. I know this won't be universally popular, but I also hope they don't overload with Membership and Season Ticket seats. In other words, keep a large number for general sale. I read quite an interesting article a while ago about this being the Spurs model because they know they make so much more money, particularly in merchandise (especially Asian Visitors because of Son) from people that only go, maybe once a year. I know we both dislike the financial side of the game these days but, if we ever want to compete with the rich clubs we are going to have to think like them.
Anyone know if the safe standing is part of the upgrade, that usually helps the atmosphere at games. One thing I like about Spurs stadium is the one giant stand behind the goal has no corporate boxes (they nicked the idea from the yellow wall at Dortmund) so proper football fans in there. I think someone on here suggesting we do something similar but might be more difficult when extending an existing stadium.

Yep. The Dortmund "yellow wall" would be a great stand to copy. Cheap tickets to get all the lads in there. Get the flags and banners going and really make that stand bounce. please log in to view this image
