For me it’s got to be Elland Road not an edge of city thing. If you stand with the West Stand in front of you, to make it symmetrical and flow, you would have to nudge the whole thing 50+ metres to the left so, a complete rebuild. Financially massive and probably would mean playing at somewhere like Hillsborough (if they would have us) for 2 or 3 years which would crucify the club and the fans would hate it. Last night, and so many others over the course of time, showed that home is special, not necessarily unrivalled but, unique, powerful, spine tingling. Embrace it, leave the stones and statues in place and work with the history, our history And with that in mind, I think they have made a better stab at it than Northampton council with what looks like a loony bin with portacabins surrounding it
Exactly Marcos. Built over 100 years ago. Never been symmetrical and has been loved by generations. I don’t know why some want symmetricity now.
