Every time I hear a Carpenters song it makes the day just that little bit brighter.

Mike Peters of the Alarm has sadly passed away:emoticon-0101-sadsm

I was lucky enough to see the Alarm in St David’s Hall & Wembley Stadium.

Only 66, but had a long term illness. Did a lot of fundraising, appearing with a host of mega stars.

Sad to hear that. I remember watching a documentary about him and his wife who also had serious health issues. RIP

There’s no such place: it’s called Caroline Street. End of debate.

I’ll be dusting down my old Beach Boys 45’s & sip a few Shipyard Ales or two with a shot of JD later. Brian Wilson RIP.

A troubled soul but a musical colossus.
You realise his impact on music at the time when you read the tributes from the likes of McCartney, Elton John, Dylan, Daltry, Carole King and many more.
Innovative and took music into a totally different space. His reach was far and wide, influencing a number of genre. People like that are few and far between.
You don't need to be a lover of his music to appreciate the impact he made.

Oh, by the way, you can keep the Shipyard Ale.:emoticon-0119-puke:

I still often listen to his first self titled solo album - 37 years ago - makes me feel so old <doh>

Oh and as for the ale I adopted a USA theme but in hindsight I’ll stick to Czech pilsner<cheers>

I like my real ale. Happy drinking out of bottles. Tried Shipyard. Mark it down as an experience that doesn't need repeating.

My wife is a big fan of music and we discuss the passing of musicians and how they date us.

Sly Stone passed the other day. Can't say I listened to the Family Stone, but it was there as a sign post in our youth.
