I was in the Town end yesterday and we've known we are down since Christmas, basically it's a step too far too soon for us but I would like to say a big tnankyou to your fabulously friendly supporters for treating us so well and your words of encouragement after the game, good luck in Europe next season.
Just been saying this morning Ipswich fans were class and a credit to their team and town afterwards. Long journey to make to have a ref ruin a game.
Those two fouls though are the exact fouls that yellow cards are made for - diving and pulling an opponent back when they are past you. Amazed that such a knowledgeable fellow as yourself feels that they were harsh. IMO the harsh ones are the tackles where the player gets caught on the follow through or mistimed tackles.
Dorgu's yellow on Sunday was absolutely absurd. Meanwhile McAtee for City commits a second offence, clear yellow, but the general consensus was it wasn't given because he'd have been sent off. Erm, isn't that the ****ing point?
It's almost impossible for people to get that. The people making decisions are human and there's some decisions people may or may not give. It's ruining the game all the crap imo and we're heading towards a non contact sport that stops and starts every 30 seconds. I'm not against VAR for offsides or big decisions in general, but the rule book has become such a load of crap it's unbelievable. It's probably better to just let a ref make decisions based on common sense. People will cry whatever anyway.
. The lack of consistency with all refereeing decisions is the most annoying thing. The sooner they are all replaced by an automated system (The HDQ 2.6) the better.
No, other refs are very adept at being corrupt. More money involved. Especially Spain, Italy and South America.
Tbh all DPP needs to do is just believe the refs will get everything right every week, and it will happen.
