This. Really don't need the uncertainty at ownership level on top of needing a new manager plus the uncertainty of players futures.
Solak did that interview on the golf course with Tiss back in December and seemed fully committed to the long term plan then. What has changed since then? It isn't as if we looked like we might stay up in December and then got relegated out of nowhere so I doubt relegation would have changed his mind.
Things can change I guess, but not sure why he’d bother stepping in and making the changes he has recently within the club to then decide he wants to sell before seeing if that bears fruit. He’s also seemed pretty committed when he has spoken in interviews, and like he was becoming a fan.
Agree. He'd also be selling at a low point (financially) in terms of his return. It would be more believable if his plan was to get his own appointments in place, return to the PL and hand over a healthy, PL club to a new owner. I don't really buy these rumours right now
On the surface makes no sense to sell now. They would lose a **** load of money on the purchase price (and running of the club thus far). If they want out that badly then we will be sold on the cheap which opens the door to owners with not enough money to compete Maybe they want to not have the “crown jewel” in the multi club model based in England as it is too hard to establish a PL side now? Only logic I can see, but they’d have to take a serious hit financially in the short term
twas part of the Talksport interview: https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/2...ner-solak-confirms-juric-manager-next-season/
That would make the most sense. It's in his interests to ensure we do as much as we possibly can to get promoted. Doesn't mean he can't sound out potential buyers in meantime of course.
Ah right. Looking at the exact quote I think he meant, Ivan is contracted for next season, so in terms of planning as things stand, Ivan will be the manager next season. "We signed a contract with Ivan for a year and a half. So yes, he is our manager for the next season and we will obviously try to prepare the best possible team for the next season that should be suited to his way of playing football." He will have been aware of the break clause being widely reported so probably just trying to get fans/players to buy in to Juric rather than view him as essentially a caretaker.
That's ridiculously cheap. Buy the club, sell Ramsdale, THB, Dibling, Downes and Fernandes. Money recouped. Free football club.
Have to remember that very few owners are supporters of the club they own, it’s all business and money nowadays. The timing is not great for this to even be muted, when we are looking for a new manager to take on a **** team and expect to get promotion next season. I guess the summer transfers etc will show an indication of the truth if we fire sell and spend little, and end up with another **** manager choice.
As a comparison I guess, Everton were recently sold for “over” £400m. Are we 3 and bit times less valuable? Most likely
Aren't they also riddled with debt though? Guess it's tough to get a real valuation of any club these days.
