What's with the aimless long balls? Was exactly the same against them earlier this season. Don't normally play like that either.
A bit more firepower, hopefully Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Marissa Sheva Born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, the midfielder started out in college football with Penn State Littany Lions, before moving to Spain to join Deportivo Alavés Gloriosas. The 27-year-old moved back to the USA shortly afterwards, signing for National Women’s Soccer League side Utah Royals. Boasting a wealth of NWSL experience, Sheva made the switch to Washington Spirit in 2021, and later her previous club Portland Thorns. She is also an Irish international, making 11 senior appearances for the national team, and has recently been called up to their squad for the upcoming double-header against Greece next month. On signing for the Club, Sheva said: "I'm so happy to have signed with Sunderland and be a part of this incredible club. I'm excited to work with Mel, Steph and the group of girls that have been putting in the work all season. We've only got a few games to go, but I'm excited to help the team finish the season strong." Lasses Head Coach added: "We were made aware of Marissa becoming available in December and have tracked her ever since. We are delighted she wanted to come to Sunderland, we believe she has the attacking qualities to add value to the team and we are excited to see her finish the season with us and hit the ground running into the next."
Good win that. Bottom club Sheff Utd next week. It'll be good to finish the season off with back to back wins. HTL!
Not a great season for the lasses but it hasn’t been bad, finished in 7th. Hopefully an improvement to come next season
