If that is the case (and I’m not doubting you) that makes sense as to why our form has fallen off so badly. Selles must be kicking himself for coming too.
I do agree I think somebody would take Pandur but quite a few of ours are not as valuable as some think.
Mehlem, Omur, Racioppi, Giles, Alzate would all likely be off for starters and would bring in a reasonable amount if for no other reason than getting wages off the books plus reasonable fees. I'm intrigued by the notion that some players Selles has been regularly selecting have been told to find new clubs as I can't imagine who that could be - Jones? Coyle? Slater? I doubt it'd be Pedro/Gelhardt/Amrabat for obvious reasons, nor Kamara, Hughes or Pandur. Could see someone like Palmer being told he doesn't have a future but he's not been playing as much anyway, perhaps Burstow too but ditto he hasn't played much.
I would keep the best 20 players we can whatever league we are in and sell every other player bring in funds get a striker and sign Zambrano if possible and use the rest to help the financial, just try our best with the 20 we keep.
Absolutely ridiculous and suicidal decision by the club to inform players they need to find new clubs during the international break when we’re in a relegation battle. The players haven’t been good enough and need to take responsibility but the performances recently make a lot of sense. Great motivation for players when we’re staring relegation in the face to tell them a month before the season ‘oh, by the way, you need to be sold in the summer because we’re skint’. ****ing abysmal. Acun needs to **** off. I hate the **** more than old man Allam when he told us we can die when we want.
Those players off the books Wages and any fees surely should be a massive boost to the financials While not really hindering any promorion push So thats a big positive Plus if we sold pandur and hughes too
To me it sounds like its telling fringe players to look for new clubs Jacob Pedro ( in terms of telling him we wont give him a new deal) Etc Those are very normal things in clubs It actually helps the players Surely
Apparently it’s not just fringe players and they weren’t told they need to leave because we don’t want them but because we need the money. The club is in deep **** and I’m sure more will come out when the season ends.
Yeah I could only imagine us telling players not playing much or at all like Jacob as you say. Burstow, Jacob, Palmer, (maybe) Pedro. I doubt we're pulling Alzate or Kamara into the coach's office telling him to **** off...
Any names? Just can't reconcile us being skint and needing the money and needing to push players out, but then saying "Yeah why not" to signing both Puerta and Zambrano.
Possibly but its always the worst case scenario without the ins and outs Its probably more in the middle Could be wrong Hope im not
Telling players lile burstow, jacob etc to look for new clubs is pretty normal Ite a clear indication for their agents instead of it being in june If we pulled hughes and kamara etc in and said we have to sell you Then thats a worry
Why did they do that? I did say a few weeks ago I’m sure agents are pushing in April to find out what’s happening for their clients?!
Other posters know more than me and out of respect to them, I wasn’t going to start discussing details until after the final game. Mainly because I have a tiny smidgen of hope we’ll stay up and things posted on here often makes it way to Twitter and Facebook. We know some players read the stuff on here and social media. I think the last thing we need right now is lots of tweets saying ‘of course so and so has been **** because he was told to leave the club in March’. The players already know but it just creates more distractions and drama.
Because the clubs in self preservation mode, some, as others have said is normal procedure in certain circumstances. But it's way more then just fringe players and players with no chance of a future. It's upset the moral around the squad and it's ( in my opinion) showing on the pitch and performances. The club should have just kept their powder dry until we had our champ future secured.
Hopefully whatever happens The players can have one more top performance together Whatever their future Do it for their own futures
It’s also really unfair on Sellés and if I was him, I’d be furious. It puts the performances since the international break into a different perspective and Sellés’ lineup choices and tactics. Honestly, **** Acun. The guy’s not ‘got his heart in the right place’. He’s a **** who has gambled with the club and will scurry off.
That’s the common sense way of doing it. Don’t upset the apple cart till we are safe. But for the last 3 years common sense has gone out the window. How the heck can we afford to pay for Peurta and Matazo?
