Yes we need to win by a shed load....this one and the Leeds one....plus the three teams above us to all lose by cricket scores.
The galling thing is that Luton's goal was due to an horrendous defensive error by Coventry right at the death. It's not even as if Luton deserved 3 points!
1-2....F/T Riis...(90mins).............Bundu...(14mins) ....................................Wright (75mins) Second away win of the season....to little to late.
Neither down, yet, but that clueless bell end in the Coventry goal deserves to be run through with a rusty broadsword
Shocking wasn’t it? Still, some good news for the extended Argyle family. Dan Scarr wins promotion with Wrexham. If anyone was born to star in a Guy Ritchie movie, it’s Dan Scarr.
Just watched the match video.....how did their goal count ?.....surely their No9 was miles offside.....there seemed to be up to four PNE players still walking back from their previous attack.
Unlucky lads. I think if the new manager had have just come a few games earlier, you’d have been alright. If you keep hold of him, you’d be favourites to bounce straight back up.
That is definitely the case. Results since Muslic came would place us safely in mid-table but the damage was done before Christmas under Rooney, when we were like a ship without a rudder. The good thing is that ending as it has, the fans are foursquare behind the players and the players are foursquare behind Muslic. It’s disappointing but it doesn’t have the bitterness of most relegations.
You lot are just surrender monkeys. We will beat leeds 15 - 0 easy and the others will lose by 6. I read it in the stars...................
One game left....and then start sorting out the playing staff begins....Gyabi of course is already finished being a Leeds player.....with Leeds being promoted I see no future for Gyabi in the Premiership....and I'm not sure if Miron Muslic would try for him...probably cost too much. I think Bundi could terrorise Div One next season and hopefully if he stays so will Hardie......but a lot of water will flow under the bridge before next season starts. Just need to finish in style against Leeds on Saturday....If only the Rooney side show hadn't happened....or even if we had sacked him half a dozen games earlier who knows what the outcome might have been.
The two that need immediate attention are Katic and Tijani, both on loan, Tijani with a right to buy (if he wants to stay). Katic has been brilliant and what we’ve seen from Tijani in recent weeks is that he’s very useful in the type of game Muslic likes to play. It sounds weird considering we’ve just been relegated but there isn’t anyone in the first 15 let’s say - those who’ve been starting or coming on as subs - who I’d definitely want to go on the basis of their recent performances. Even Gjabi, who had some poor games in my book has looked better recently, especially at Middlesbrough when he played very very well in a No 10 role. He did an interview for ArgyleTV saying how happy he’d been at the club and how he felt it had improved him but I don’t see him wanting League 1. He’s in the England system and the sky’s the limit. There are other factors of course - their desire to stay, their salary costs, age and fitness, whether they fit Muslic’s ideal “profiles” etc. I don’t see much likelihood Obafemi will stay and I wouldn’t lose any sleep if he did go. Baidoo, Boatemg and Al Hajj haven’t torn up any trees. Ben Waine was sent out on loan this time around. Similarly Saxon Earley. Ogbeta hasn’t shone. Houghton is 30 although he certainly hasn’t let anyone down. Joe Edwards is older but I’d be disappointed if he wasn’t found a coaching slot when the time comes to hang up his boots.
Thanks SMH. I’ve suffered quite a few relegations over the years but this one feels different. It’s not what we wanted obviously but we’ve got a good owner, there’s new cash coming in the summer, the new manager knows what he’s doing, which wasn’t the case in the 12 months before he arrived, and the players couldn’t have given more. I wouldn’t bet against us going out in style and doing to Leeds what we did to Liverpool.
I think we need to remember that Baidoo came to Argyle after a full season for his previous club......to adjust to Championship football without a break at the end of a full season in Sweden must not be overlooked.... I think a summers rest will show us why we were chasing him last summer.
