Growing up quite near Luton airport: I was fascinated by vapour trails when I was a very young child. Maybe there are more now than in the early 70s but they look much the same.

 

Vapour trails fade away in seconds cloud seeding makes the weather more gooder

 

I remember watching them gradually thin out as they grew wider then trying to ascertain the point at which they were no longer perceptible. I'd say that was a good number of minutes.

*Was in there once when one of the regulars bowled through the doors and up to the bar, handed the barman a blood soaked claw hammer, and asked him to dispose of it. This was around the time someone got shot in the car park
