It's not all Americans, there's a lot of critical voices across many sectors of society. CNN are reporting the Trump administration appears open to negotiations with Harvard, even after America’s most prestigious university sued the federal government setting up a clash over academic freedom, federal funding and campus oversight. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/04/22/us/harvard-lawsuit-trump-administration-explainer/index.html Harvard President Alan Garber says the school will 'not compromise' on its rights with the Trump administration according to NBC. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...ol-will-not-compromise-trump-admin-rcna202564 Judges are kicking back too. "A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to restore all jobs and funding for the Voice of America and other US-backed news outlets, ruling that efforts to dismantle it violated the law and Constitution." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0jz58zjllzo The Supreme Court, have now ruled that the White House is required to take at steps toward freeing Abrego Garcia as widely reported People on the streets. "Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration took to the streets of communities large and small across the U.S. on Saturday, decrying what they see as threats to the nation’s democratic ideals. The disparate events ranged from a march through midtown Manhattan and a rally in front of the White House to a demonstration at a Massachusetts commemoration of “the shot heard ’round the world” on April 19, 1775, marking the start of the Revolutionary War 250 years ago." https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...-rally-in-cities-and-towns-across-the-country please log in to view this image
I've been chatting with friends about go on an extended vacation across the USA. They've been going through their phones and laptops scrupulously removing all Trump regime directed derogatory material as have some of the people they'll be visiting who consider themselves vulnerable. It will be interesting to get their slant on how it really is on the ground on their road trip.
There you go, bringing context and facts into Os's statements. How is Os ever going to convince us that the problem is foreigners, if you keep showing accurate information?
Os was never one to let truth get in the way of a good story, good did I say? Hardly that, the trail of mis/disinformation will continue and be shown to be the utter bollocks as Archie aptly describes it.
Essentially, if every single solitary non-white non-British person were deported, the overall arrest rate would fall by quite a bit, not least because police numbers would fall by 8.4%.
Two German teenagers were imprisoned, strip searched and deported from the USA, which doesn’t bode well for the World Cup, especially if the visitors don’t have hotels and internal flights organised before arrival. The authorities are claiming that they were looking for work and didn’t have the above organised, whereas the girls claimed that they sometimes do freelance, online work but have no customers in the states and left their plans fluid as they were travelling. https://people.com/german-teens-detained-hawaii-during-post-graduation-trip-11719907
The US always want to know what you're staying don't they? When I was looking at it years ago it was something that was advised to ensure you have booked.
Can you do a cross reference of this by age / level of poverty? I think I might know why these figures look like this…
People ask why the government doesn’t release more data based on ethnicity. Well, part of the reason is that people, in general, don’t understand data. And worse, many people like to weaponise data. The white population in the UK is much larger than any other ethnicity, and that does a lot to hide our sins. People will point to ‘facts’ like the proportion of crime committed by non-whites is higher than that committed by whites, but that is comparing a settled and very much aging white population with a young, financially deprived non-white population. The only way to get fair data would be to compare males / females by age bracket and socio-economic status. This is a dangerous time, when the uneducated shout with loud voices and support their ideas with misleading data.
Os is more likely to be on the next Musk rocket to Mars than respond to the data debate with any depth of thought.
