The issue here is you'd back villa to win all 4 games left that would put them on 69. Then chelsea have 3 massive games and the king of the draw as well. I can't see them on any more. The magic 70 point mark then should be the target for the others. 3 wins, 1 draw from 5 for forest, very very doable. 3 from 4 wins for city. Pias easy. 4 wins from 5 for Newcastle Newcastle are the only one who might stumble imo. They've arsenal and Chelsea and Everton
Why didn't he say the var ref backed his mate on field and had no interest in changing a decision? In effect what he has said there is the var ref just took what the ref on the field said verbatim and didn't examine the incident fully. He just looked as saw the ball being played therefore the onfield ref did see it. Neither the onfield ref nor the var ref ever though to player safety. The onfield ref was in a Derby where he "expected" a tough game and was not wanting to send anyone off. He was biased from the outset to help the side who wanted a dog fight in other words. The ref on var was only interested in backing his collegue.
# Virgil/Pickford, with all the same ingredients, including both ref and VAR not knowing their own rules. But hey-ho, PGMOL title... right?
Pre VAR referees made mistakes and you couldn't really fault them half the time because they didn't know better. Post VAR referees make mistakes (perhaps a few less) but you absolutely can fault them because they have the tools they need and still screw up.
Yes, although odd in a good way. I hope we'll be seeing articles about them in race for play-off space, soon.
I must admit that when I wrote the post I struggled with which word to put in and settled on 'odd'. I should have waited a bit until a different word popped into mind because odd looks a bit odd now. (I'm using this emoji because it too looks a bit odd and I've no idea what it's supposed to be.)
I'm sure it is slightly more odd that us dropping to 4th one year and 5th in another as city are seen as either "worlds greatest" or "huge financial cheats" but I'd rather see this than title after title after title in a procession. Hell before the season i would have been happy to retain top 4 for us and hoped arsenal might stop city. We have manged keep our standards or better and they stopped themselves
Yeh, as I said the word odd was probably the wrong choice. When I read the headline this morning, my first thought was that I didn't think I would be seeing a financially doped city fighting for anything other than first place. Is it odd? Probably not. Unexpected, yes. Welcome, yes.
There's probably many words people could choose. Satisfying to see? Unexpected? In the end I think we all expect them to get away with it, spend 500million amd dominate for another 3 years.
I'm more than happy to enjoy it while it lasts. Will be so satisfying to see us us win the league this year when better liverpool sides have missed out because of them.
Unexpected probably the best word - or just surprising. Anyway, I didn't find your use of "odd", odd.
Psychologists say that being forgetful is an age thing; it affects young and old alike, whether it's forgetting your homework or where you put your keys. I'm not sure how it applies to searching for words though.
Age has a lot to do with it, I can certainly vouch for that, but I find there are other factors. I've always had a good grasp of English grammar and spelling, in school the other kids always asked me how to spell things - it was just seemed natural for me. I learnt through reading a lot and in those days books and (for the most part) newspapers were proof-read by editors who knew their job so every time you read a word, its spelling and grammatical context was consistent and therefore reinforced. Nowadays, with so much social media and self-published material there are a lot of mistakes and I'm finding myself questioning my own memory at times and having to check up on things. At least, that's my reasoning - I'm not getting senile at all...
Arsenal gone full strength other than Saka. Should cruise this with palace resting players ahead of semi final
Yeah, was always going to be an Arsenal victory but I expected Palace to give us a bit of hope......3 minutes
