I strongly recommend people don't read the comment section on any social media site ever. Even the most mundane of subjects can have ridiculous comments that rile up. I keep going on about it and I sound evangelical but honestly my mental health is a million times better since I came off all social networks.
I have said in the past that Roberts is a talented player but he very rarely does what good wingers do and that they hit the byline before crossing . Defenders are now wise that he will take the ball to his left and run in to traffic and is why his goals scored and goal assists are so poor particularly playing for a team challenging for promotion- unfortunately we don’t have a natural right winger to challenge for his position so little we can do till next season. Agree his defending leaves a lot of improvement as it normally consists of waving his leg out and he therefore concedes quite a lot of free kicks in dangerous areas .
So we have a manager who is new to the English game who has got us into the playoffs. Yes his selections have baffled us yes we have gone from on the front foot attacking to slow sometimes sideways football. But it has got us to where we are now. Now that RLB has tried every type of tactic/play he now has to step up and set us up for the way we use to play fast on the front foot closing teams down. I've noticed that the last two games our play has been more on the front foot moving the ball much quicker the only thing at the moment that is not working is lack of goals. Yes we moan and are very critical at times but one thing is for sure we will all be back next season no matter where we are.
If we can crack the attacking side of our game again, I think our style is well-suited for a newly promoted PL side. We are supposed to be able to control a game without the ball and be deadly on the counter. I can see it suiting better than the other promoted clubs that tried to be possession-heavy.
Not all of them are plebs , Reg is ultra defensive and rather poor at game management, our set plays are pathetic and he has displayed a degree of favouritism with certain players , having said that I am all for him getting another 12 months whatever division we are in , he has earned at least that imo.
Tbf their football did improve after signing Edwards. I wouldn't want to watch it week in week out though.
Is it any different really to what we watch week in, week out? Excluding the start of the season of course. I can't remember the last time I felt entertained at a Sunderland game.
I think we got into the playoffs and tried to keep the squad fit, its been pretty dire, hopefully ending soon
