You struggle to match the Premier League’s brisk walk, as you exit the main courtyard. The path is lined with towering statues. Statues of great Premier League men. There’s Sir Alex Ferguson, staring down at you. Is that disappointment in his eyes? There’s Alan Shearer, doing his iconic celebration - expressing a joy you haven’t felt much this season. You think you walk past a statue of Ryan Giggs, but his face has been chiselled off. The Premier League stops you at a road, where a solitary horse-drawn carriage is parked. You notice an EFL logo carved above the black carriage. The driver is a small man with a kind face. He shakes your hand and nods to the brown horses. “Suffolk Punches, hardy beasts them.” He says, smiling sympathetically. “I wanted to give you some motivation for the next game.” The Premier League says, with disdain. “We’re all about the product, and the product …” is broken, you want to say. But the Premier League doesn’t finish its sentence. It opens the carriage door and gestures for you to look inside. The sight horrifies you. A young lad in a Southampton shirt is lying on the floor, bruised and bleeding profusely. An old man in a Leicester top is vacantly staring straight ahead, muttering something about 2016. They both look broken, in spirit and body. “You three,” the Premier League sneers, contempt dripping from every word, “have been an utter disappointment to Us. When you finally get relegated – you’ll be joining this sorry lot.” At this, Leicester stares at the Premier League, as if to say something. But the moment passes. All you can hear is a strained whispered word – ‘Ranieri’ – repeated over and over, as the Premier League closes the carriage door and walks you back up the courtyard. 3-1 Newcastle.
2-0 to Newcastle I think it would be kinder on your fans to have relegation confirmed away from home. Newcastle are a strange team, you can easily go 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes and the floodgates open. I’m going 2-0 with second half goals as it’s definitely the second 45 where you’ve been struggling
Trouble is with the 115 charges casting a cloud over Manchester City, relegation is not confirmed for the side in 18th position until the first ball is kicked in August.
We can all hope that we put on a brave front and perform well in this iconic Sir BR stadium, his last managerial post I believe. But it will be another defeat, not without incident. 3-1 home win.
Sadly, it’s highly unlikely anything will be decided before July/August at the earliest. Then the Championship third place team will be staking a claim. It’s all going to be messy and as money talks, I expect a huge fine will be offered to be paid if City agree not to appeal Look at it this way, City could go on with appeals costing Millions and millions, they don’t care, they could pay players legal costs to claim lost earnings, each case might lose but they have a bottomless pit of money, the PL don’t. If they got chucked out, they’d be the first on the super league bandwagon, the complications and lost PL revenue would be off the scale. Scenario two they say to the PL we’ll not fight you in court if you issue a £100m fine and deduct us 20 points
How can Sheffield Utd get a 2 point deduction for irregular transfer payments yet City have not had to answer one charge?
This is not going to go well for us. Before Arsenal, Newcastle were the 1 team that absolutely dominated from start to finish at PR (I know we lost 6-0 to Man City but we were competitive for 20 minutes) think they will declare at 4 and we might nick 1 so 4-1
Yeah but Newcastle don’t have Dara O’Shea or Jack Clarke! They are worth at least a two-goal head start! Have faith!
Cant see anything other than o big Newcastle win. We are struggling to put a decent XI out there.. Have a feeling we'll score, but think it will be 5-1 to them
