Not so sure about this. To me, JHT hasn't been the same since coming back from the US at the end of the last international break.
I did say I was being generous! But I don’t remember Farke’s first season being standout for our defence, we shipped quite a few goals that season I think (the last season I remember us being solid defensively was under Hughton…
Whilst that is certainly correct for the last 2 performances, we did just this against West Brom and Sunderland and then the manager was criticised for being too defensive. There’s no hiding that this has been a terrible end to the season, especially when we had just got ourselves into a good position just outside the playoffs. Obviously the recent run of games is bad but there has certainly been some good performances this season and reasons to be positive. I’ve seen people saying this is the worst season in 50 years and it’s far from that. Although frustrating I’ve somehow found it as a whole a more enjoyable season than last year. I’m happy to give JHT next season as was all set up by the club as part of the plan when he was appointed. I think we will see some big changes in the squad again, with almost none of the players remaining from before JHT joined. We will probably start slow next season but by November and December there should be signs of where we are going, if it’s not looking positive then that’s when I will start to worry.
Not to mention having no clue about playing advantage; he called play back twice in the second half when we had opened them up and a break was on.
I feel like this season has been quite standout for poor refereeing like this. Not really bad penalty, foul or offside calls (a red card for McLean aside…) it’s just been dozens of really annoying issues like this - the soft fouls have been the worst
Sainz no longer the league's top scorer. That honour is now Piroe's after scoring four in Leeds's promotion win this afternoon.
Fisher ruled out for the rest of the season with knee injury picked up against Portsmouth. Jurasek pulled up at the end of training yesterday with pain in his quad again
I'm so disengaged I forgot we were playing, reading the comments seems our defenders are on holiday as well.
You'd have thought preserving his lead at the top would have injected something into his every performance since returning from suspension, but it hasn't.
Is it possible that, similar to Buendia, an offer has been agreed between all parties and rather than giving his all he's simply plodding along to the end of the season? If so as much as I don't see Onel as worthwhile, I'd rather him in the side. As for squad turnover I don't see us being able to change the sheer number of bodies required to improve the squad, without picking up freebies (injuries and high sign-on fees). We certainly need to concentrate on EFL players not foreign as they simply take too long to acclimatise.
