Form seems to be critical going into the play offs so Sheffield utd might struggle to gather themselves up. Will either get 30 points next year? Not so sure.
Knowing alot of Sheff Weds fans, I am constantly told Sheff U are **** when it comes to playoffs and the Sheff U fans I know agree with that. Not finishing top2 is disaster for them. I'd back Sunderland for promotion. Also Burnley are going to be horrible to watch next year, they're a really negative team that have gotten promoted by shutting teams out.
Apparently when we beat Tottenham away 6-3 we had 39pts if we’d have lost all of our league game since that match (15) we’d still be 1 point ahead of Man Utd.
Huge win for Forest after back to back defeats. Forest run in does actually look the easiest but pressure is probably on them the most given they were comfortable and have slipped down that it will almost be more a disappointment.
Meh sheff United been up and down few times - same with Burnley and Leeds. Much rather seeing new teams and be huge for Coventry after all the issues they’ve had numerous years or Bristol city who haven’t been top flight for as long as I can remember.
The Mackems can get ****ed, want them nowhere near the premier League. Sheff Utd will go straight back down anyway. In fact, looking at all the teams in the play offs and the ones just outside who could make them are basic certainties for the immediate drop
Should be asking which club will vote with city and Newcastle and which will vote against. It's just a business. Ipswich fans probably got 4 or 5 days max of enjoyment before their fans were all fatalistic and doom and gloom. Whoever comes up won't survive.
...and two ahead of Spurs. Though we did draw with Man U after that game so if we lost that, then they'd be one point ahead of us. But that's no fun so we'll ignore it.
https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-fc-fans-call-liam-31486545 Football journalist Dougie Critchley, who appears regularly on Sky Sports, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, this morning to argue Liverpool deserve more credit for their achievements this season. Dougie said: “I really don't like the narrative around Liverpool. They went 26 League matches unbeaten, longer than Pep (Guardiola's) Manchester City have ever gone in a single season. Your club's disappointing season doesn't invalidate Liverpool's title win.” This angered Manchester City fan Liam Gallagher, who regularly shares his support of the club to his 3.8m followers on the social media platform. Liam mistakenly believed Dougie was a Liverpool fan when he replied to his post. Referring to his side winning four Premier League titles on the bounce from 2021 to 2024, Liam said: “Let’s see ya do four in a row ya s****bubbles.” However Dougie hit back with humour, saying: “I'm a Sunderland fan Liam, sadly pretty unlikely!”
Listen, I whine more than any about how dull we've been since the Newcastle and City wins (and you have to go back to the Christmas period when we battered W Ham and Spurs for any real, flowing football before that), but had somebody told me that in Slot's first season, having bought only an Italian crock in the transfer window, that we'd win the league I'd have thought they were nuts. I'll take this, the parade in May, and have a bloody good summer, believe me. Nobody can sour this for us. The pennant flies at Anfield next season and all is good.
