Rothwell I consider a partial success purely due to the Huddersfield match Also had Downes, THB and Fraser.
It's pretty difficult to not utilise the loan system well as a top Championship club, given the glut of youngsters and squad players who are available from PL clubs every year. SR haven't got much right with us, but even they managed to successfully utilise the loan system in our previous Championship campaign. By all accounts Rothwell has been excellent for Leeds this season. They seem to use him slightly more advanced than Martin did (which is similar to Smallbone).
But yeah miscommunication aside I agree that this season we did dreadfully in that regard. Though I can't help but wonder if Cornet might have offered more under a different manager.

Second part of the season, Rothwell has been used for home games and when playing away we have went more defensive with Gruev. Rothwell is the best corner taker we have, I'd say a good Championship player who gives you 7/10 every week but never a 9/10 or 5/10. He has the licence to drive forward, when we are at home lots of teams play for a point and pack the defence, Rothwell doesn't unlock it but he does earn his place
